PROS Nice windows that make the place feel open and bright Easy menu with a solid selection of beverages and food They also have non-caffeinated beverages in a fridge (juices, La Croix, Canada Dry, etc) Funky, local artwork on the walls (for purchase I believe) Super adorable, bubbly and friendly barista. They also have a back patio/garden which is great when the weather is nice. Lots of lush greenery which makes it feel like a nice getaway from Main St. Decent amount of seating and outlets, great for people working on laptops Strong, reliable, free wifi -- the password changes often so you'll have to reconnect whenever you return. Nice sidewalk seating out front which is great for taking an afternoon coffee/tea break. Music is played at a very nice volume that isn't disruptive to working or conversations. Don't you just hate it when music is blaring at a cafe?
CONS Awkard, narrow, and cramped single-stall restroom. But at least it's decently clean and well maintained! The patio has two trash bins that were filled to the brim, causing the patio to be swarming with flies. Outlets on the patio did not work, so working outside had time constraints on laptops The barista was a little spacey (albeit super friendly) and messed up my drink order but I enjoyed my latte regardless of the fact that it wasn't what I ordered. We also asked her for no lids on our drinks (twice), and she also forgot both times. It happens! We're all human. I have...
Read moreI was in town visiting and discovered this place via Google. Upon my first visit I ordered and iced coffee and a veggie sandwich. It wasn't that busy so I decided to enjoy my breakfast out on there lovely patio. I was almost done with my breakfast and noticed that I still hadn't received my iced coffee. I went back inside and asked the barista (who had completely forgotten about my drink). I was given a loyalty card to come back the next day as a peace offering, okay fine. The next day I visited and ordered an oatmilk latte and another veggie sandwich (the were out of avocado at the time, but no biggie). I waited out front at a table and got my oatmilk latte, but was then noticing that guests who had ordered after me were getting there food and drinks. I asked the barista where my veggie sandwich was (it's basically an open faced bagel with veggies and avocado) and she apologized and said it would be right out. Minutes later a older gentleman walks out with a toasted bagel and cream cheese face palm emoji I kindly let him know that wasn't what I ordered and repeated my order AGAIN. Several minutes later he returns with my veggie sandwich and another loyalty card. I let him know that I am returning home and won't be back. I urge anyone visiting to exude patience and order with caution. My food and coffee was good, but the service wasn't so great. Sadly, I won't be visiting them again...

We recently visited Rudie's Rock Espresso while traveling on CA-1, enticed by its positive reviews and picturesque setting. Upon arrival, we were delighted by the charming ambiance and the beautiful backyard garden, which promised a pleasant coffee break for our group of four.
However, the quality of the coffee was extremely poor. From the first sip, it was clear that something was wrong. The coffee had a distinctly unpleasant taste, likely due to a combination of bad beans, poor brewing technique, or a group head that hadn’t been cleaned in ages. As someone who appreciates good coffee and respects the effort that goes into making it, I typically finish what I order. Unfortunately, this coffee was undrinkable, and I couldn't get past the first few sips.
Despite the coffee's poor quality, the staff were a redeeming feature. The two women working behind the counter were super polite and courteous. It's possible we caught them on a bad day, but the coffee was undeniably subpar.
In summary, while Rudie's Rock Espresso offers a lovely atmosphere and friendly service, the coffee was a major disappointment. I hope they can address these issues, as the location has great potential. Until then, coffee enthusiasts might want to look elsewhere for their...
