We were excited to visit this lounge since it was closer to home and provided live music on Friday, Feb 28, 2025, as we usually frequent other live music venues. We try to find small businesses to spend our money. This ticket purchase just happen to coincide with the economic blackout. We were going to try Yummies anyway to see this particular band perform. We prepaid $30 for a table for 2 for a 9:30 pm showtime.
We decided to arrive a little early to order dinner. My honey had wings with lemon pepper lightly seasoned for $14 that did not come with fries, so he ordered fries for $5, and a coke $3.50. I ordered the cheeseburger that came with fries $14, bottled water for $5. The wings came out without the burger. The wings were hard and dry as if they had been refried as the bones were black through the meat, barely any lemon pepper seasoning (light means light not nonexistent) and the fries were cold. It took another 10 minutes before the burger to arrive and arrived cold with the 2 slices of cheese barely melted, but at least the fries were hot. I asked the waitress was the burger beef because it did not look nor taste like beef, of course she stated yes, but my body told a different story the next day. After a while, the waitress comes back to check on us and we state to her the issues with our meal and she states, oh sorry, and walks away.
We did not realize this was a hookah place as we would not have went as hookah places are not great for people with respiratory issues, but we stayed and enjoyed the show since we paid to see this particular band.
As the night progresses and the show is ending and we receive our check for $62.29. We are like, how is the bill $62? $5 water, $3.50 coke, $14 wings, $5 fries, $14 cheeseburger, $10 entertainment fee ($5 each), 8% sales tax $3.32, and 18% service fee ($7.47). WHAT? Why did I pre pay $30 plus fees for tickets just to be charged an additional $10 entertainment fee? What is the 18% service fee for? $62 for wings, a burger and fries for a show we prepaid for?
Needless to say we will not be back for mediocre food, hookah smoke and almost $20 worth of additional fees.
Society says support black businesses. This is why people do not. Every business that has hit us with entertainment fees, convenience fees or services fees and then want the customers to tip their workers on top of these fees, we do not support or spend our money at any business that operates in this manner, black or otherwise. Do not charge junk fees and expect...
Read moreThe customer service last night was seriously lacking. Part of my group never received their food, and the server seemed unsure of how to handle the situation. She checked on us infrequently, and even getting water took an unreasonably long time. Additionally, the setup of the space is not accommodating for guests seated in the back of the establishment during live band performances. The food that I have had a chance to try at Yummies is great.
Edit for response to owner’s reply: Wow—what a gaslighting and passive-aggressive response. It’s truly disappointing how some people refuse to take accountability. Feedback like mine should be seen as an opportunity to improve your establishment, not dismissed. I was actually considering visiting a third time, but the tone of your reply has completely changed my mind. Also, I’m not the only one with concerns—there are several other negative reviews as well. While it’s great that you take pride in your business, no one is perfect. Being open to constructive feedback is how growth happens.
Best of luck...
Read moreHad an awful experience here. First, the music is way too loud. Second, the decor is atrocious. Third, multiple items I tried to order weren't available. Lamb chops. A particular drink, and only 1 of 3 desserts were there. Fourth, I was set to order the Red Snapper, but they said it was only as a fillet, which is something I've never encounteredin a restaurant. Fifth, they must've ran out of alcohol, because I surely didn't taste any in my drink. Lastly, out of the food I did receive. The lemon pepper wings were the sole decent product. The salmon bites were tiny and over seasoned. The asparagus was undercooked. The spinach was literally 2 fork fulls, and the cheesesteak rolls seemed like they should've been in a kid's meal. The only saving grace was our server, who performed her job to the best of her abilities under the circumstances. I will never go back, and most certainly do...
