I would share pics, but my food was too good to stay on the plate. This place is busy, busy, busy and the atmosphere is very pleasant. You can actually talk with people and it is not too loud.
Service is prompt, pleasant, and courteous. Food does take time to come, but that is to be expected when it is freshly cooked and when the place is jam packed with the wait for a table Boeing 30+ minutes. Did I already mention that the place is BUSY? Extremely busy, and today is Saturday.
The founder's hash is excellent; it is not your typical pull out the box corned beef hash. It is like the homemade, prepared corned beef hash that we are used to getting at the Greek Diners in the Northeast, absolutely delicious. I enjoyed eating that❤️ I sat at the bar, so I was able to see the kitchen chefs, servers, and busfolks in action.
They are very meticulous about cleanliness and keeping things sanitary. One of the young ladies dropped a squirting sauce container on the floor, and, when she picked it up, she did not do what one usually sees at some questionable establishments, she WASHED it and made sure it was clean before placing it back on the counter. The bathrooms smell like Clorox and are clean. No overflowing trash nor filth on the seats nor in the sink. The place is clean.
The kitchen staff works like a well oiled team in unison. The rapport among the wait staff, servers, and kitchen staff is respectful and they work as a team. I saw the same folks who work as waiters, servers, remove dishes, perform all of those duties and check on customers, including me, even if they were not the original server. When the server checks on you, the check is genuinely warm.
Kabir is a consummate waiter, always giving the best recommendations and anticipating what we would like to order. He is kind, professional, and an asset to this welcomed business establishment.
We really like this place, and a good breakfast is hard to come by in these parts. One gets tired of Waffle House, IHOP, Cracker Barrell and other rapid service places, especially after unseen sanitary conditions that send you to the porcelain hopper.
The menu is varied with so many options, you really have a hard time picking between all of the delicious options. The food parading by you gives you a chance to see when you sit at the bar. I finished my meal and just had to have one of those biscuits and Turkey sausage and get something for my husband, too.
This establishment is well worth the visit! I highly recommend it. Excellent food, excellent service, and great ambiance..all at...
Read moreI went there on Easter Sunday after church with my son and his girlfriend. We patiently stood near the desk to be greeted for well over 10 minutes and never were acknowledged. One young lady walked around my son and his girlfriend to explain to an elderly woman leaning on the wall that she may have made her reservation at a different location (rather than just offering her a reservation). A young man with blond braids came and chatted with her at some point. Then, a hispanic family came up, stepped around us and was greeted and taken to their seats by yet, a third employee. She seemed hispanic. STILL, NOT ONE OF THEM HAD SAID ANYTHING TO ANY OF THE 3 OF US STANDING THERE. I waited another minute or so after the hispanic young woman returned to see if she would acknowledge us. She didn’t. Instead, she began shuffling menus around at the desk, seemingly organizing. The other young woman was talking to the elderly lady behind us. I stepped directly up to the young lady shuffling the menus and explained that we had not been acknowledged but she had taken others that came after us to be seated. She said they had reservations. I told her we did too, but nobody had spoken to us yet. She pointed to the other young lady and explained that she did not have the device (I guess that held the reservations) and that the other young lady had it. I told her that she had not greeted us, neither did the other young lady so she would not have know whether or not I had a reservation. She just looked at me. Finally, I asked her, “so aren’t you going to greet me?” The young lady did not say a word. She simply looked at me. At that point, I turned around and we all left. This was such a disrespectful and disappointing encounter at what should have been a simple greeting. I would have excused it all if I had been offered a simple apology, greeted and seated. The fact that excuses were given and STILL not being greeted is inexcusable and certainly not somewhere I would spend my money. Wr all had eaten there before and enjoyed the food and service enough to tip OVER 20%, but we could not even get a “hello” from at least 3 different employees this time. I called to speak with the manager, Arianna, she said was her name. She said that she was told about it, which was seemed strange 15 minutes later in a place too busy to greet 3 adults standing right in front of them. She offered a weak apology which did not seem genuine, hence this truthful and...
Read moreHORRIBLE SERVICE. Came in for my birthday meal and service was HORRIBLE. I came in and asked if I would be able to get the birthday meal to go, the woman said yes and sat me at the bar. That’s where her food service ended. She waited on everyone at the bar except for me. I just got on a call and waited until I finally got off my call and tried to call her over. She looked at me and ignored me. She then went to two other customers to see if they needed anything and then touched another server and said “can you serve customer at chair 1”. How rude. I had done nothing to her. I didn’t catch her name but she was the bald lady. Then the server I had I gave her my order and it was a simple Peppermint hot chocolate and a shrimp and grits. She came back and asked me to enter in my phone number for the birthday reward. For some reason the number wasn’t working. I asked to speak to the manager to see what the issue might be and the bald lady said they were all in a meeting. I waited and my waitress brought me a peppermint iced mocha. I told her I ordered the peppermint hot chocolate…she then brought me a peppermint hot mocha saying it’s half hot chocolate half mocha. I then showed her on the menu where it says peppermint hot chocolate and she says in her system it says mocha. I said that’s an entirely separate drink. There’s hot and iced mocha and also a hot chocolate. So she walks away and the bald lady who’s serving everyone else at the bar continues to check on everyone and ignore me. At this point, I was done. I asked a different server if I was ok to leave as I hadn’t drank the peppermint mocha and I was no longer interested in eating at the restaurant any longer. He said yes it’s fine and the small convo with him was the only decent customer service interaction I got the whole time I was there. This was horrible. I’m unsubscribing from the email list and obviously they don’t want to give me the free meal so I’m good on that too. This isn’t the place it was when it opened before. I got my free meal last year with no problem and the service was...
