This is an update from my previous review I gave a couple months ago and was not happy at all. I made reservations for myself & 7 other ladies from my church on July 7th,
When I got there they did not have the reservation and was asked to show proof I made the reservation even though you can clearly see there was seating available to accommodate us, ok so finally we are seated then was given a limited menu , in order for us to be able ton from a full menu they moved us to another table that literally 6 feet away (what’s the point )… also as per the owners, he said a lot of people complained about making reservations but they aren’t getting the reservations, if you know that why offer that as an option or turn that off on your website.. people make reservations FOR A REASON, but the nerve to ask for proof of a reservation when YOU KNOW the reservation system you are using doesn’t work 🙄
Also the quality of the servers are definitely in need of adequate training and that’s on the owners, your workers will only work how they are trained, we should not have to ask for silverware, I’m coming to a restaurant to eat why isn’t silverware on the table, why do I have ask for napkins, why do I have to ask for condiments, if i order pancakes , french toast, wouldn’t you think I’m going to need syrup. Refills on coffee, water should be a given, the server should be trained to refresh the drinks automatically.
Also 3 of my ladies sides came out without their entrees and didn’t come out until almost 30/40 minutes later , like what the point of the entree if I’ve already eaten the sides.
And then the bill comes, now I’ve been there a few times but never paid a bill because my dates picked up the bill, but since Im with my ladies from church we paid our own bills.
So let’s start with 5.00 for a cup of coffee, never got offered a refill even when I asked , it’s like I never asked 2x…
then how about the entree I order was French Kiss which on the menu it states 18.00. When I placed my order I asked the waitress if the grits already comes with cheese she said yes, but then when I get the bill, I’m charged 20.00 and the extra 2.00 she said it’s the cheese, when I told her I didn’t get any cheese and told her you said it was already included , she was like ok, I’ll take that off , which she just took off 1.00
2.00 is not going to make or brake me, It’s just the principal. I usually always tip very well in any establishment where I get at least decent service.
The owners seem to nickel and dime their customers, I asked what the extra .35 was for on the coffee , she said oh it’s because we charge for creamer. What??? You serve coffee but charge for creamer???? That is just crazy to me!!
Now to get into the food, no complaints, The food has always been good , no complaints, but the service is absolutely poor. I’m big on customer service and it’s just not there.
When we make the time to make reservations, plan an outing to go out to eat , I’m looking for and expecting great service and especially if your going to nickel and dime your customers.
The ladies and I spoke to the owner and he sees very nice be asked for out feedback and when we expressed our concerns for the most part he was gracious to listen and tried to make it right by sending over fried green tomatoes but I’m not sure if our concerns will change how he does business but what probably keeps people coming is the food is pretty good , if you are a person who doesn’t care about the quality of service you get then this type of eatery might be ok for you while you are being nickled and dime for everything
I went today for the 1st time for brunch with my friend. OMG I was pleasantly impressed with the service and food. I had the French Toast w/ side of grits, chicken sausage and eggs, he had the fish & grits entire!!
We both loved both our meals and we met the owner . He was very nice , checked on us and asked us to come back again , which I definitely will come back and will definitely check out the other location...
Read moreUnfortunately this place was an awful experience. The employee by the name Baqari was extremely rude and offensive and made racist/colorist remarks which caused us to leave before we even had a chance to order anything. He referred to us as "bougie negroes" and made it clear that he works in the back and doesn't take orders because he's "a light skin". We were confused as to why he even approached our table and ask what we wanted to order given that he works in the back. There were plenty of other employees in there watching our table so it was unclear as to why he wanted to act as our waiter if he works in the back when there were waiters present. He made us extremely uncomfortable. The manager apologized for his poor behavior but overall this was the worst treatment I've ever received at any establishment. I truly hope something is done so others don’t have to have a terrible experience like we did. Response to business: it’s extremely unfortunate you guys aren’t taking accountability for this event. If he didn’t work there as you guys are back tracking and saying now, then maybe don’t let just any and everyone be behind the counter as if he works there, especially if they are indeed wearing kitchen attire. Since you guys seem to forget who your employees are, I’ll help jog your memory. He clearly had on kitchen attire and he was behind the counter with the other employees. I’ll include the video to jog your memory. And when the manager spoke to us, she never stated that he didn’t work there. He himself also made it very clear that he worked in the back. Updated response: First and foremost, I am not upset, just extremely disappointed by the experience that I had at this establishment and the terrible treatment received. But I can see that you guys are upset by your unprofessional responses and your inability to take accountability on this matter. And the reason it took me so long to get around to this review (not that that the timeframe matters) is because I am extremely busy and have had so many other amazing black establishments to visit and review. But your establishment was so terrible that I had to make sure I got around to writing this review. Also I'm not sure what you mean by my other reviews, I only need to write one for this terrible experience. But I guess you guys have so many bad reviews you assumed some of them were mine. Apparently he represents your establishment enough for your manager and staff to watch him approach our table and attempt to take our order. Our waiter never came to the table because he (Baqari) was there representing this establishment. The manager never claimed he didn't represent the establishment and even apologized for his terrible behavior. Even if I did entertain the lie of him not working there, you all let him represent this establishment and approach customers on your behalf and that is why you need to take accountability. All of the lying and back tracking is so unnecessary, just take accountability, this could've been handled so much better on your behalf. Its so funny how you switched up after the video was posted. Like I said, this place lacks professionalism and your response is a testament to that. This is the last time I'll be addressing your ignorance. You apparently have too much time to focus on the wrong aspect of...
Read moreWe will not be Linqing again.
My recent visit to Linq on a Sunday around noon left much to be desired. I had high hopes, but the reality fell short due to significant service issues and mediocre food.
We ordered two identical waffle meals, each priced at $13, along with water and a coffee. The first meal arrived after a 30-minute wait, and the second did not appear until another 30 minutes later, by which point my date was nearly finished eating. It was perplexing why two identical orders, except for waffle toppings, couldn't be prepared and served together. We were told the delay was due to the restaurant having only two waffle makers, which seems insufficient for their operation. This doesn't explain why the chicken sausages, potatoes, & eggs came out half an hour later though (they appeared to be fully staffed).
The food itself was just "okay" and certainly not worth an hour-long wait. For example, the peppers in the eggs weren't sautéed, just heated, and the cheese on the eggs wasn't melted.
Our waitress was kind and apologetic when I voiced my concerns, even offering to inform the manager. However, the manager never came to speak with us directly. Instead, we were arbitrarily given a $7 discount on our waffles, which still didn't make the math add up. This lack of direct engagement from management is what truly soured my experience—it gave off the impression that they couldn't be bothered. Compounding the issue, I was an okay math student, but I'm still struggling to figure out how two $13 meals and a cup of coffee came out to $40. It's unclear if gratuity was included, and their 8% card usage fee isn't obvious unless you happen to spot a sign by the restroom door (we paid cash).
Beyond the slow service, other operational aspects revealed a lack of attention to hospitality. Customers must request additional sugar, syrup, and drink refills. Furthermore, for refills, staff take your cup to the back rather than bringing a pitcher to the table, which is certainly less sanitary.
Linq has potential, but it's clear they are struggling with poor management and a lack of focus on customer hospitality. Because of this experience, I will not be returning....
