As frequent travelers to Mexico, my wife and I may have higher expectations than most when eating at a Mexican restaurant. Our favorite dishes from here (Pozole for her, Huevos Rancheros for me) are as close to authentic Mexican cuisine as we have found north of the border. When venturing away from our favorites, we are making it a mission to work our way through the entire menu, and can highly recommend the spicy and playa inspired Camarones Cucarachos, or the Sopes. We always start with shared plate of Toreados blistered chiles and if there is still room at the end of the meal, finish by splitting a Flan for desert. Dos Sisters has been a wonderful addition to the Mt Juliet dining scene and we eat there most weekends. ¡Qué rica comida!

I was in the mood for Mexican today which is weird. Omg, very delicious. I didn't eat all my taco salad and I had my first Birria taco. I'm not a fan of the onions on it, but I wanted to try the way it came. I can see why people love these. Really happy I tried and would order again without onions of course. Yes, I did use a chip to eat some of my taco salad. **Truck Drivers: it's in a stripe mall, bobtail is okay, but I wouldn't bring a trailer.** I ordered - Taco Salad, only cheese, lettuce, ground meat. Taco shell was on the side, no sogginess - 2 Extra ground beef, lot of ground beef. - Birria Taco, with pulled pork, cheese, onion, and cilantro.

This is coming from someone who lived in Southern California my whole life, in California I ate Mexican food 2-3 times a week. When I was pregnant I ate it probably 5 times a week. So moving to Tennessee, the Mexican food game is weak out here. I’ll even say the Mexican food is trash out here. Cinco was good but didn’t fulfill my craving for that authentic Mexican food. Then I saw this place, this place is fantastic. The enchiladas are phenomenal, the Al pastor street tacos 🔥, the nachos are so good. Dos sisters made me wanna become the third sister. That’s how good it was. I’m now gonna be a regular.

Sigh. This is one of those places where the food looks fine, but tastes like it's for people who don't actually like Mexican food. The salsa was in the bottom three I've ever had. It had the right fresh ingredients, and looked fine. But it tasted strongly of BLACK pepper. No, not chili pepper, not cumin, but black pepper. I could even see the flecks of it floating on the top, once I inspected it closer. The cheese dip was okay...it did have some nice jalapeño flavor. Our entree was the lunch taco salad with ground beef. The fresh ingredients were actually okay. They didn't skimp on the lettuce or sour cream, or even the meat. The tomato was not diced, as one might expect in a salad, but it was a giant slab that needed to be cut up on the plate before adding to the salad. Weird. Plus, it could not have been less ripe without being green. The tomato was actually hard. The thing that was my last favorite aspect about this taco salad - again, remembering it's being made for people who dislike Mexican food, apparently - it was REALLY salty. Not only that, it didn't taste like any other seasonings at all. Just very salty beef. PLUS, the waiter overcharged us, so we had to get the manager to refund the difference. We definitely chose the wrong restaurant for us. We like much more authentic-tasting food than this, so we will skip this place next time we are in the area again. Hope this...

Authentic Mexican flavors in a cozy, family run spot

Had a wonderful dinner at Dos Sisters in Mt. Juliet with family, and it left a great impression. The first thing worth noting is the warm, family-owned vibe, feels welcoming, clean, and relaxed.

We kicked things off with chips and salsa (served hot and fresh), and the salsa lived up to expectations, tangy, well-seasoned, and a perfect opener. The menu has a strong selection, everything from chorizo queso dip and street tacos to hearty fajitas and veggie options, so there’s something for everyone.

For our mains, I went with their fajitas platter, sizzling and generous, full of fresh peppers, onions, and flavorful chicken and steak, classic done well. My nephew decamped with tacos, and my mom loved the veggie quesadilla, everyone had big smiles.

The service was friendly and attentive. We were seated quickly, drinks refilled without asking, and any extra napkins or sauces came with a smile. Prices feel fair, especially considering portion sizes and freshness, excellent value for a family meal.

Bottom line: Dos Sisters delivers that homey, authentic Mexican feel in Mt. Juliet. Great food, friendly service, and a variety that works whether you're craving meat, veggies, or queso dip. Definitely...

First, I have to say that I was looking for something different than the usual taco, enchilada, or burrito. They delivered in a dish called Pollo Mexicano. From the description, I expected meat and vegetables with a lot of cheese poured on top as I’ve seen in other restaurants. But as you can see from the photo, that is not what I received. I got a great mixture of chicken, grilled vegetables and sauce with a hint of spice. I really liked the flavor. So, you cheese lovers may want to ask for extra or order something else. The rice was different. It had very small amounts of corn, carrots and peas in it…. just enough to take it up a notch from plain rice. The service was good. Waitress was attentive and answered my questions. The only thing I would change is the salsa. It was a bit watery but tasted ok. A fresher salsa would elevate the experience. I will visit again to get their take on some of my regular dishes (chimichanga, taquitos, veggie enchiladas, fajita quesadillas, etc). My son loved the street tacos with carnitas… especially with the lime and very spicy...
