I’m making this comment on this review because I feel bad about giving it a 1 star review but not explaining why. Back in October I visited this restaurant with my daughters from out of town for a church service at Pastor Greg Locke’s church. From walking in I felt uncomfortable. I asked for a children’s menu and instead of it being handed to me politely and respectfully it was thrown right in front of me on the counter. I knew it was off but I continued to place my order anyway because I was trying to get back out of town. As I looked at the menus to place my order my daughters began playing and using stickers on the counter. It was brought to my attention by the owner and I apologized and told my daughters to stop. Their five and one honest mistake by children. I did not offer to pay for them because it was a honest mistake. The owner offered to redirect my daughters by offering them to sit down and color and I obliged. After getting a cup for my drink I purchased the owner ended up bringing the stickers my kids used and giving them to my daughters and said she won’t charge me for them. Didn’t think anything of it. I then went to get myself my drink but noticed they were all soda pop options and I didn’t want pop so early in the morning. So I went up to the register and said I would like to change my drink and I’ll pay the difference then the owner came and told me no because she didn’t charge me for the stickers. My understanding was she was giving the stickers with the thought that it was a honest mistake but that wasn’t the case when she denied me to be able to swap my drink. I ended up having some words with the owners and said it was false humility being shown and that it was wrong. I felt very uncomfortable there and had never really had that happen to me before. I didn’t enjoy the food cause I was so upset I couldn’t eat. I wanted a refund and just wanted to leave but I couldn’t because the owner said the food had already been brought to the table. This was by far one worst experiences I’ve had. Me and the owners did talk and apologized. One brought up that I may be upset because I was black but not once did I bring up race. I just brought up humility. I thought it was unfair I could not exchange my drink, I even offered to pay the difference and was denied. Customer service means so much in any form of business. You want people to feel welcomed and want to come back. Hospitality and service...
Read moreFinally stopped into this place, just recently opened in Mt. Juliet. I've been to a few of their other locations around town, but it's been awhile.
I grabbed a Womelette and an Irish Coffee this morning. First let's talk about the Womelette. One of their "things" is they fix just about all of their food that needs to be cooked or heated in an waffle iron. So, this loaded omelette (onions, green peppers, tomatoes, sausage, cheese, hash browns) is cooked in a waffle pan. See the photo to just engage in all the goodness. Can add a small side of salsa and sour cream as well. I will say in the future, I'll probably ask to swap bacon for the sausage (personal preference) and add some fresh avocado as well. But even without those tweaks, this thing was filling and delicious!
Now to the Irish Coffee. I chose it with a light roast and it's served in a little mason jar type mug with a handle. Although it didn't have all the normal alcohol you're expecting from an Irish coffee, the taste was great and thick cream topping perfectly mixes with each sip as you drink the coffee through the thick & creamy, rich foam layer.
I'd seen this place was coming in, but honestly, I thought they were just supplying the attached Exxon gas station next door with their coffee and maybe some baked treats and breakfast items. Nope, this is a fully free-standing establishment and they have a drive-thru as well if you're in a hurry.
Other benefits include great wi-fi speeds, guest rewards program and I also overheard one of the baristas say they offer 10% discount to medical personnel.
Plenty of reasons to come in and support this local company, that spreads love and coffee and helps the community at the same time! Be sure to visit their website for more information on...
Read moreThe man, the mission, the mindset. Rob Webb and his wife Emily in 2009 were your average people traveling to Ethiopia to adopt some children. Seeing a greater need and the financial challenges for adopting it became Rob’s mission to bring about change. Rob’s mindset and his passion for hand-roasted coffee birthed Just Love Coffee Roasters. Some of the best beans sourced from around the world, offering a selection of the finest single-origin coffees and expertly crafted blends. In 2011, the first Just Love Coffee Cafe opened its doors and today approximately 50 locations in nearly 20 states are open and growing. To keep from being your “run of the mill” coffee shop, Rob turned to a waffle-iron inspired breakfast and lunch menu. All Day Breakfast offers mouth watering options of stuffed waffles, Belgian waffles and womelettes (waffle omelettes), breakfast biscuits, breakfast burritos, baked goods and pastries, sides and sauces and so much more. All-Day Lunch is a simpler offering of a few sandwiches, wraps and a quesadilla. Interior is bright, lively with cement floors, vaulted industrial ceiling painted white with a large wood, waffle shaped light fixture. Wood veneer tables and metal chairs. Local artwork, vibrant sayings and slogans decorate the walls, merchandise, tees and bagged coffee prevalently displayed. The Flyin' Pig was a delectable warm, crisp traditional waffle stuffed with bacon, sausage and egg with a side of sausage gravy or syrup. Every bite was a reminder how good breakfast can be. Staff were friendly and efficient. Come for a good cup of coffee and/or breakfast and support a...
