A Magical Birthday Experience at Langdon's Restaurant and Wine Bar
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
When it comes to dining experiences that truly stand out, Langdon's Restaurant and Wine Bar in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, is a cut above the rest. As a long-time food enthusiast, I have eaten at my fair share of top-notch establishments. However, it wasn't until I took my wife to Langdon's for her birthday that I discovered a dining experience that was nothing short of magical.
From the moment we entered the beautifully appointed restaurant, the ambiance set the perfect tone for our special evening. The warm, intimate lighting and tasteful decor created a cozy atmosphere, while the attentive staff made us feel like we were their only priority.
The menu was a delightful adventure in flavors and textures, boasting a plethora of exquisite dishes made from fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The sheer variety left us spoilt for choice! After much deliberation, we opted for the Seared Sea Scallops appetizer, which was cooked to perfection with a lovely caramelized crust and a tender, melt-in-your-mouth center. It was truly a masterpiece.
For our entrees, I chose the Herb-Crusted Rack of Lamb, while my wife indulged in the Pan-Seared Duck Breast. Both dishes were impeccably presented and cooked to perfection. The lamb was tender and juicy, accompanied by a flavorful herb crust that elevated the dish to new heights. The duck breast was equally divine, with a perfectly crispy skin and succulent meat. Each bite was an explosion of flavor that left us longing for more.
The wine selection at Langdon's is nothing short of impressive, boasting a wide array of options from around the world, handpicked to complement their exceptional cuisine. Our knowledgeable server helped us navigate the extensive list and recommended a beautiful, full-bodied red wine that paired wonderfully with our meal.
No birthday celebration would be complete without a sweet treat, and Langdon's dessert menu did not disappoint. We decided to share the decadent Chocolate Molten Lava Cake, which proved to be the perfect finale to our unforgettable meal. The cake was warm, rich, and gooey, with a heavenly molten chocolate center that oozed out upon the first bite. Paired with a scoop of velvety vanilla ice cream, it was the epitome of indulgence.
Throughout our evening, the attentive and personable staff went above and beyond to ensure our experience was memorable. Their attention to detail, genuine warmth, and impeccable service truly set Langdon's apart from the rest.
In conclusion, our visit to Langdon's Restaurant and Wine Bar was an unforgettable birthday celebration that exceeded all our expectations. The culinary creations, outstanding wine selection, and exceptional service all combined to create a magical dining experience that we will cherish for years to come. I highly recommend Langdon's to anyone seeking an extraordinary meal in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. We can't wait to return for our next...
Read moreUpon entering this restaurant with my task trained service dog, I was informed by the hostess that she would need to see my service dog’s “registration papers” in order to seat us. I calmly explained to her that there is no such thing as a service dog registry and that if anyone is bringing a “registered” service dog into their establishment, it likely is not a legitimate service dog. I provided her with ADA public access cards that I keep on me for situations just like this. She then brought over a manager who repeated the same thing. Again, I attempted to educate him on public access and the ADA. The manager then stated, “I can refuse service to anyone I want to. If you don’t have a note from your doctor, then I don’t have to seat you.” I calmly explained to him that is not how the ADA works and that such a refusal of service would be a violation of federal law. He once again refused to seat us and then asked what was wrong with me that warranted a service dog. I explained the task that she is trained to alert to and the manager continued to demand a note from a doctor. I suppose he thinks that people with epilepsy, diabetes, and other invisible illnesses must not be disabled because they don’t look disabled. Not wanting to hold our party up any longer, I begrudgingly produced a note from one of my treating physicians (that I have absolutely no obligation to provide to anyone but keep in my wallet for uneducated persons like this man). I was appalled to see the manager take a pen and paper and begin writing down my personal information contained within the doctors note, which he then put in his pocket. It is abundantly clear that this staff has not had any ADA/public access training. This was one of the most egregious violations of the ADA I have ever encountered. The sheer ignorance of the staff and refusal to educate themselves on proper protocols is unmatched. The owner should be ashamed and also wary of such a gross violation of...
Read moreWe have been loyal to Langdon's since the beginning. We have spent more than $50K dining at the bar (just the 2 of us) and all the other times with friends and family. Last night with friends we spent $400 at the bar. The 2 hostesses were thrilled to inform us that we were absolutely not going to be seated without reservations until a couple of hours later, pleased to tell us. The 4 of us happily went to the bar and enjoyed dinner like we usually do. After some drinks and apps and about to order dinner, 1 of the bozo hostesses brings a bar chair toward my husband and starts shoving it at him to get by him (clearly the chair was not going behind him as he is 6'2 and ... anyway). My husband gets up and the hostess shoves it back there. Then she does it AGAIN with another chair (are we humans sitting here? um, what r you doing hostess?) My 8-year-old could have handled this better with communicating intent and execution. It was just wrong. Food was great as usual but the dining experience was more like 'get in and get out' bc we r so popular. Then my friends walked us out and 1 of the hostesses AGAIN harassed my girlfriend as she was walking me out. The hostess asked her "so r u keeping your reservation um Excuseme?" Hostess, you just watched us eat our entire meal right here at the bar next to you and your hostess friend. I mean, I realize I must look like I'm 100 years old to the girls (I'm 39) but Do you see what is going on around you? Wake up. My husband and I go out to dinner in MtP twice a week and we won't be stopping in again. Good luck. Maybe some training might help, specifically the reception staff. If I were the chef I would not want this kind of lousy hospitality representation FIRST thing in the door as we are about to...
