Last time, I got their cheese steak sandwich. I may ask for a fork next time. It was awesome! So much of their food looks good, and from the people I talked to, it has all been awesome!
You can get it with sautéed onions, mushrooms, and jalapeños... I didn't get the jalapeños this time, but it definitely will next time. I also got both cheeses, but I'm kind of a tidy eater, so I will probably go with just one next time.
Yesterday I went there again and decided to splurge.
I got the Poutine, fried cauliflower, and a Cuban sandwich...
These are from Rooted Kitchen at Farmstrong.
The Cuban sandwich was pretty classic, except the pickles are kind of like bread and butter pickles (I prefer dill)
The fried cauliflower was amazing. I shared with the guy who was at the same table with me.
The poutine was ok. The brown gravy was a bit salty and kind of overpowered the rest of the dish.
Overall, everything was good to great. I will get the sandwich and the cauliflower again in the future, but I probably won't get the poutine unless something changes.
Update: 5/4/2025 had the Cajun Grilled Shrimp. The menu changes regularly, so don't expect to get that thing you loved ever again. I loved what I had last time but sadly it isn't there anymore. The shrimp dish I had was $18, and it was pretty small. I don't mind small as I don't eat much but for $18 I felt it was on the pricy side for 6 shrimp (prawns really, they were large) the vegetables that came with them were very good, peppers, and zucchini. I wasn't a fan of the corn mush on the bottom. I know they were going with the Cajun theme. I'd have preferred like a tagliatelle in brown butter garlic sauce instead of sweet corn. Taking a bite with the corn, I couldn't taste the delicate shrimp. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and seasoned flawlessly. Even just more veg and no corn would have...
Read moreWe hosted a group after a wedding rehearsal dinner on 7/15/2021 and everyone at Farmstrong Brewing and Taproom was a complete pleasure to work with! Planning this from California was easy because of the clear communication about table sizes and what we could bring for decor and how to ensure that we paid for our guests mingling in an area that was also open to the public. Clay and his entire staff were incredible! It is clear that they are not only passionate about great beer and delicious food, but equally intent on giving people a terrific customer service experience! On the day of our event, we were able to get in prior to our reservation time to put table cloths on our reserved tables, floral arrangements, a banner and some balloons. The atmosphere on its own was fun and full of friendly people! We could probably write a book full of details about what we loved about the food and beer! A group of about 40 people all tried many varieties of beer and just about the entire menu and all guests raved about both! Despite being slightly short handed due to situations outside of staff control, our entire party got foodie worthy meals in a timely manner! That was impressive! The beer menu had something for everyone! Some of our guests are more cocktail drinkers. Other guests prefer wine. Every single person found something on the beer menu that they enjoyed! The selection is so extensive that there really is something for everyone. Anyone who is thinking of hosting an event at Farmstrong Brewing and Taproom shouldn’t hesitate! We’ve hosted a lot of large events and coordination was stellar, pricing super reasonable, top notch service and 5 star food and drink! Thank you to Clay and the entire staff for making our...
Read moreAfter the tulip fields we came to this brewery and it was good. They have plenty of parking and only outdoor seating. Dogs are welcomed. For food they have a good selection of fries and sandwiches. We tried the Carne Asada Fries that were generous on toppings and the green salsa wasn’t spicy. We also tried the Skagit Steak & Cheese, it was very cheesy and plenty of steak on it. The only complaint was the bread was too burnt and hard to eat. For beers we asked for a flight which came with 4 options. We ordered the Cultivar double IPA Staking Hay IPA First Pick Piñata Blackberry Tango We did the regular size of the Brahma Barley Wine and the Cultivar IPA Also ordered two bottle ciders, the Tulip Fest Strawberry Honey and the Full Flat Peach which both were nice and sweet to enjoy. We also took beer to go which they sell by 6 pack the Cultivar double IPA and 1 bottle of the Full Flat Peach. Overall was a great experience and had good beer to enjoy. Staff was friendly and served our drinks...
