Maple Street Biscuit Company — Restaurant in Murfreesboro

Gonna have to give four starts because of (1) the best coffee in Murfreesboro! And (2) the cleaning I observed when I was there. A worker was wiping down everything from the items on the self-serve bar to the baseboards (separate rags, of course!). THAT'S attention to detail!

Now, if that same attention were paid to the silverware, none of which I nor the other patron who was also sorting through looking for clean items, found acceptable. We just decided to hope that it was just water spots and to clean it at our tables. Mine turned out NOT to be just water spots...

As for the food, my husband was stunned that the apple butter wasn't on the side on his chicken & biscuit. If you like your chicken sweet, though, then his dish would have been great.

As for mine, the gravy is divine, though shockingly thick. The net result was that the biscuit underneath was very dry to swallow since I couldn't put any butter on it and the thick gravy doesn't soak in. But I got past that to enjoy it. My over medium eggs, however, were over well as well as being too brown and crunchy to eat -- at a $3 add-on. I always credit a restaurant that has staff asking how things are -- another plus here. However, while they asked if they could remake my eggs when I was almost finished eating, they didn't offer even half a refund which is what I feel I was entitled to since I ate the over-cooked yolks after peeling away the browned whites. I did ask if they intended to serve their eggs crunchy and they confirmed that is the way they serve their eggs. In the South -- we know our eggs down here!

So, go have a cup of coffee! I can't speak for the biscuit because both were so laden with toppings we couldn't tell how they were. But I have a hunch...

Visited Maple Street Biscuit Company that just opened last month and it looks like this company knows how to create a welcoming place while serving up great food.

Everything we ordered was exceptional, well prepared, and delicious. The Street Doughnuts barely hit the table and we were sampling them. They deep fry biscuit dough, cover them in cinnamon sugar, dust with powdered sugar add some maple caramel sauce for dipping. They are INCREDIBLE and did not last long. The waffle orders were perfect, the waffle crispy with a soft interior, and the fixings on the waffles will increase your sugar levels. The “Risky Biscuit” was some of the best biscuits and sausage gravy I’ve had in a long time. You get two biscuits that are golden brown and go extremely well with spicy homemade sausage gravy they smother the biscuits with. Next time I order this I would add the egg option to the dish. For the coffee lovers out there…the dark roast they serve is very strong and flavorful and my daughter was impressed with the Iced Maple Vanilla Latte she ordered. We saw people bringing various orders to their tables and everything looked so good. You can see the folks here take great pride in serving up quality food and ensure it is just as appealing to the eye.
