⭐⭐⭐⭐☆ Tasty experience with room for improvement in service and guidance.
Shabu-Shabu Hot Pot and Grill offers a unique and fun dining experience if you’re into hot pot. The chicken soup base was really flavorful, and the variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, noodles, and dipping sauces was impressive. The conveyor belt is a cool feature — it continuously sends small plates of ingredients around, which adds a fun and interactive twist to the meal.
However, we did feel a bit lost when we first sat down. There wasn’t much of an introduction or explanation about how things work — like how to use the conveyor belt, what’s included with the buffet, or how the pricing works with drinks and add-ons. It took us a while to figure things out on our own, and it would’ve helped if the staff had been more attentive or proactive in walking us through the process.
That said, once we got into the flow, it turned into an enjoyable experience. Everything was clean and well-stocked, and the ingredients seemed fresh. We had a good time overall and left full and satisfied.
If it’s your first time, be prepared to ask a few questions — but the food is definitely worth it, and I’d recommend trying it...
Read moreWe had dinner here last night. It was our first time eating here. We arrived excited, but left disappointed. When we arrived, the sauce bar was missing MANY items. When some items were restocked, after waiting around 20-30 minutes, many did not have labels. It was impossible to make a sauce, based on the posted recipes, due to lack of labels and missing ingredients. I couldn't even find soy sauce for sushi because of faded or missing labels. Food items on the conveyor belt were also missing. I wanted bok choy or Napa Cabbage in my broth, but while there were signs and spaces on the conveyor belt for those items, they were out until just before we finished eating. We payed a lot of money for a truly underwhelming experience. I think it could have been better if there were labels on the sauce bar, adequate ingredients on the sauce bar, quicker restocking time, and better service. Our waitress only came by a couple of times, and failed to tell us that we could adjust the temperature of our grill and pots, even though we told her it was our first time eating there and we needed instructions on what to do. Not...
Read moreLast week my daughter and I went in to have some lunch. I had no idea Shabu Shadu was an all you can eat. I wasn't hungry enough for an all you can eat lunch.
Today we returned with my husband and son. This is my first experience having a hot pot. As a first timer, I'd like to say it was fun and tasty. They give you eight choices for your soup base. My daughter and I chose the chicken soup. My husband selected the miso soup. My soup was feeling lucky and chose the Szechuan base soup. Once we selected our soup we proceeded to the buffet to select what will go into our soups. I had the fish cakes, quail eggs, lobster balls, rice noodles, ramen noodles, bokchoy, cabbage, mushrooms, fresh garlic, sesame oil, and peanut powder. I even made room for dessert and I am so glad I did. There was a layered coffee flavored cake, fresh fruits, and cream puffs.
You really should arrive hungry. It's an all you can eat establishment. That alone makes...
