An older female staff member yelled at my three year old daughter twice for looking at and playing with the stuffed animal toys they have on display within arms reach of young children. Not sure if this woman is the owner, or manager, or just an employee — but regardless, she made my child cry and feel scared for harmlessly playing with toys that should never be there in the first place if you don’t want young children to touch them. There were not many people in the restaurant. My daughter wasn’t doing anything to disturb anyone. She was quietly playing near the stuffed animal tower.
If you own, manage, or work at an ice cream shop (that also chooses to sell toys), then you should know young children and families will come there for ice cream. It’s incredibly rude and disrespectful to speak to anyone, much less a child, in the way this woman spoke to my daughter. We will never come here again. I would never recommend this place.
Other customers in line were visibly uncomfortable. One kind customer spoke up and said something in our defense. We left and did not give them our business. There are plenty of other options in Blue Ridge for dessert and/or ice cream that will treat you and your family way better.
If you’ve made it this far in the review, be sure to join me in prayer for this woman’s hardened heart to...
Read moreMy family and I stopped into Appalachian Rolled Ice Cream and Candy in Blue Ridge, Georgia, and we are so glad we did! This is such a fun and adorable sweet shop in the heart of downtown Blue Ridge. The shop has a wide variety of treats including rolled ice cream, boba tea, rock candy, and snow cones, making it the perfect spot for kids and adults alike. The rolled ice cream is made fresh right in front of you, which is not only delicious but also fun to watch. My kids loved picking their flavors and toppings. The boba tea was refreshing, and it’s great to have a place in Blue Ridge that offers bubble tea. They also have nostalgic candy and rock candy that takes you right back to childhood. The shop itself is super cute, clean, and welcoming—exactly the kind of place you want to stop by while exploring Blue Ridge, GA. If you’re looking for a family-friendly dessert shop, an after-dinner treat, or just a fun experience, I highly recommend Appalachian Rolled Ice Cream and Candy. It’s definitely one of the sweetest hidden gems in...
Read moreI will start by saying the rolled ice cream and milkshake that we had were delicious and they have a wide variety toppings/inclusions to choose from. However, we witnessed something that I can’t help but leave a review about.
The bathroom requires a key, which is attached to a large bottle (to hopefully ensure the customer returns it). We saw a worker give a customer this key, saw the customer enter and leave the bathroom with it, and then saw the customer return the bottle/key to the worker behind the counter. This worker then did NOT change his gloves and then went back to preparing ice cream and therefore was touching everything behind the counter. This certainly needs to be addressed with the workers, as it goes without saying how...
