Close down for two weeks. Deep 🧼 clean 🧽 all surfaces. Kill the weeds in the patio. Clean the glass on the windows and doors.
Clear house with the staff. There is no fixing what you have - start over and do it right. This location is a failure. Terrible service, the dining area is a complete disgusting mess, the food prep area is a mess, the soft drink serving area is a mess. Trash on the floors, trash on the tables. 4 overflowing trash cans in the dining are.
I ordered a simple burrito. My tortilla was placed on a sheet of foil which was then dragged by two separate employees across a counter top that had been not been properly cleaned (or even wiped down) recently. The corn 🌽 that hugged my burrito when I unwrapped it was a hitchhiker from that drag across the counter since I didn’t have corn on my burrito. 🌯 The final employee to touch and wrap my burrito couldn’t be bothered to remove the extra ingredients soaked up from that foil overlapping ride across the filthy counter.
I was tempted to take photos of the condition of everything but with 5 employees and only 3 customers I didn’t want to have to explain to this team why I wasn’t happy with the conditions of the restaurant or their lack of service and attention.
Portions were small, prices at a premium and this place is absolutely disgusting. During my short visit I watched an employee blowing his nose in the kitchen, and immediately afterwards assembling pickup orders without even visiting a sink first. I watched employees chatting / without realizing I was standing in the line ready to order. I even watched two employees splitting up a few dollars from the mostly empty tip jar - complaining that they weren’t making much in tips today. (Tip jar for what?!?)
Until this location is cleaned up I 100% will not return. I should have read the reviews before I entered this store. It seems these problems have existed for a while. Avoid this location at all costs!
Here’s a couple bonus observations- during my time here I watched a staff member sit in the dining room to take a break and eat - amongst the filth - so clearly the staff can see the condition of the dining room and is not bothered by it.
And while exiting a 6th employee - in chipotle shirt and hat was digging for something in the large trash can directly in front of the entrance. Wow.
The staff here has failed. The store manager has failed. The district manager has failed. This is as bad as it gets. $18 for a burrito and a small soda...
Read moreUgh, this location is awful. Arrive @3:20pm on Tues afternoon and they have nothing prepped on the line. Person in front of me had to wait for rice, then there was no lettuce prepped for my salad so I had to take the shredded lettuce. Did not appear to have any management leadership on the premises. Line person did not ask if I wanted any dressing for my salad. I had to go back inside to get my salad dressing and was rudely informed by one of the employees that I have to ask for dressing at the end of the line. Which is funny, because they had a metal container for dressing that was empty by the empty lettuce container at the beginning of the prep line and the first employee I asked looked there first. The second employee, shorter white younger man with brown hair and beard was the rude one. They also had a long line forming with 2 employees running the front. This is the first time I have been back to Chipotle since their issues with food borne illness. Unfortunately, I will not be back. All stores are company owned which should imply a higher standard. I do feel badly for this company's investors as the stock has rightfully plummeted. Their food is good; service is very poor. I did see a young woman wiping tables outside and she was very nice and apologetic about the situation and her name was Taylor. Dining room - not one table clean (obviously not cleaned), at least two of the drink dispensers (juice ones) empty, no napkins, fountain drink dispenser full of ice and a hot mess, floor not swept by recently (gauges by the mess throughout), spoons missing.
Customer service - food debris up and down the line that they were sliding our bowls through (literally from the first station to the register, employees not listening when customers state what they want, not asking what the customer wants but putting the protein on anyway (anyone heard of food allergies before? This is a no-no guys.), the guy cutting the steak was NOT wearing the metal safety glove but just a food service glove, very slow process to order and pay, too many kids trying to run the show but no obvious leader creating ANY accountability for any of them.
Very disappointing. We are visitors to this area. Our Chipotle back in Gainesville, GA on Dawsonville Hwy is awesome. Ms. Ruth has high standards there. This Chipotle in Myrtle Beach seems to be lacking direction and leadership and high standards. The employees were nice and doing the best they could - leadership gets the blame here because it was sorely lacking. This all happened between 6:20-6:46PM on 07/17/23.
