I recently used the Geek Squad for remote support and after several agents and several hours of "chatting" I was told I needed to take my computer to the store because they could not fix it remotely. The store scheduled an appointment two days later and they kept my computer for another week. They charged me $85 to back up my personal data to a USB device. When I finally was told it was ready that I needed an appointment to pick it up. I picked it up and returned home to verify it worked properly, I discovered it did NOT so I went on line with the Geek Squad to allow them to correct the issue. Two additional sessions later, my computer was unusable and they suggested I take it back to the store for repair. I declined because of the wait time for an appointment. They then suggested we schedule an on site visit for $49.95 which I agreed to pay. The on site was scheduled for 2 days later and my computer was STILL UNUSABLE! I subsequently cancelled the appointment and took the computer to a local computer repair shop. The local shop asked for the back up data that I paid Geek Squad to create. We discovered the backed up data was only EMPTY FILE FOLDERS! They did refund my money for the backup and offered a data recovery at no charge. I will NEVER use or recommend the Geek...
Read moreMy experience with Geek Squad inside Best Buy today was horrible. My son had an appointment scheduled for 12:40 PM to have his cracked screen repaired. We live in Conway, and depending on traffic, it’s about a 30–45 minute drive on a good day.
When we arrived, an employee asked how he could help us. After explaining that we had an appointment, he examined my son’s phone to make sure nothing else was wrong. Shortly after, my son told me that his appointment had to be rescheduled. When I asked why, I was told that no one was available to repair the phone because the worker had called out.
I then asked why we weren’t notified before driving all that way, and the employee seemed completely clueless. I also asked to speak with a manager, but there wasn’t one present.
This experience was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. Geek Squad needs to do better with customer communication and staffing, especially when appointments are...

The I’m sorry your going through this, I know it’s a brand new phone but this is the process, and so on” or to be bounced back either to AT&T or Apple and nothing can be done. I was just going through the motion to make sure I covered every end before I filed complaints with consumer fraud and BBB for having so many issues with a brand new IPhone 14 pro max that’s just a month old. However, the Geek Squad Agent O’Daydrien Morant proved me 100% wrong. It would have been easier for him to bounce me like most would but he didn’t and made me feel comfortable. He took the necessary steps to find a resolution and spent a lot of time and effort with me.
