Absolutely thrilled to share my recent experience at El Cerro Grande on 1st Avenue in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. After eagerly anticipating its reopening following a year-long remodel, I can confidently say it was worth every moment of the wait.
The restaurant's transformation is nothing short of spectacular, boasting an ultra-modern interior that is both inviting and spacious. The private parking lot provides ample free parking, making it incredibly convenient for patrons. Nestled on Kings and 1st Avenue, its location is prime for easy access.
Stepping inside, the cleanliness and modern ambiance immediately caught my eye. The open and spacious layout enhances the overall dining experience, creating a comfortable and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff at El Cerro Grande are not only friendly but also remarkably attentive, adding a personal touch to the dining experience.
What truly made my visit unforgettable was the presence of my all-time favorite dish, the Queso Birria Taco, prominently featured on the menu. It not only lived up to but exceeded my expectations, delivering a burst of flavors that left my taste buds singing.
Beyond the delightful main course, the restaurant offers a full bar and an enticing dessert menu, providing a well-rounded dining experience. It's evident that El Cerro Grande has successfully retained its status as a local favorite, and it's easy to see why. This establishment has been a beloved choice for years, and its recent revamp only solidifies its place as a culinary gem in Myrtle Beach.
In conclusion, El Cerro Grande is a shining example of a restaurant that not only survived a remodel but emerged stronger and more delightful than ever. If you're in Myrtle Beach and craving a memorable dining experience, look no further than El Cerro Grande on 1st Avenue. You won't be...
Read moreWe wanted to try somewhere new. This restaurant was somewhere I wanted to try since it opened. Finally got my chance with my daughter and I stopping in one night after a dinner mishap at home. We were seated promptly on our arrival and offered the standard menu and a specials menu, as well as the waitress taking our drink order. Before our drinks arrived, we were given chips and salsa. Our drinks arrived, and our waitress answered a question we had promptly. Took our order, and food was out in what seemed like just a few minutes. Every time the waitress walked near us, she checked on us. We even asked if she could leave the water pitcher, and she did. My daughter tried the birra tacos, they came three to and order and nothing else with it. They were packed full of flavor, she said, and she enjoyed them. I tried the fajitas texanas. This was a large portion of food, it came on a sizzling plate filled with beef, chicken, shrimp and grilled vegetables, a side plate with some shredded lettuce, small portion of guacamole and sour cream, as well as a plate of rice and refried beans along with three hot tortillas. The taste was excellent, I could have used a dozen tortillas with this portion of food. Piping hot and perfectly seasoned. Had to take some home. I thought this food was very good and the service was...
Read moreCame here with a party of ten while we were on Spring Break. We got there about 1:30 and the place was practically empty so you would think service would be fast. Everyone went to wash their hands as we had just been at the beach but the bathrooms were not great. When the waitress brought out our drinks all of our sodas were flat. The chips and salsa were okay but I have had better chips and way better salsa. I tried their their hot version of salsa and it was mostly more heat and not so much flavor. The waitress also didn't seem to know the menu very well. She had to keep going to the kitchen to find out what was on certain items. It seemed to take a long time for our food to come out considering there were only about five other people in the restaurant besides us. Six of us got our food then the last four had to wait another five minutes for their food to be served. I got the nachos supreme which was okay. My wife got the chimichanga which looked more like a taquito in size. The rice was a little bland for my tastes. The meals were pricey for the amount of food that you got. But I guess that is to be expected in a tourist area. I was mostly thrown off by the slowness of the service. The waitress was nice but I couldn't get past that. I would not come back or recommend...
