We have eaten here many times before, both at the location on kings highway as well as Broadway at the beach and always gotten really good food for a really good price. I always want seafood when I'm staying at the beach and shuckers is my go to spot to get shrimp and scallops. They serve seafood several different ways so they have a variety for any picky eater. The CRAB LEGS are only available here by the order ( market price )and not on a buffet style or unlimited so if you want great crab legs they are really really great and fresh here, but do not come like the places on restaurant row that have the all you can eat style buffets.
They also have a variety of non seafood items for those who may not like or cannot eat seafood. Our friends all went as a big group and it was important that they enjoyed this place as I suggested it and bragged on the food and service there. One of my friends wanted steak so she got the surf and turf with a ribeye steak and grilled shrimp. She said that it was the best steak she had ever eaten at home, or any steak house. This prompted several others to ask for a bite which was granted to only one person in the group and that person agreed they wanted to get steak next trip as they would definitely be going back there for the food and fun.
The spot on kings highway (17) is a bar and sometimes has a live band, but has a jukebox playing the rest of the time. Its a great little spot that may get overlooked, but definitely worth a visit. There is plenty of parking here and this spot being close to the boardwalk and old Pavillion area, is on the southern end of the strip and not in the much more conjested area known as restaurant row. This makes it easier in my opinion to get in and out of the place, and there's never been a long wait when I have gone there. I don't think I have ever waited longer than it took them to wipe a table down for us. In fact this last time in September, because there were 13 of us, we had to wait about 10 minutes to put tables together as they had to clear that with the manager because of the covid restrictions.
The mixed drinks are also very good, top shelf liquor available, mixed well, and specials were all reasonable and variety was plentiful. The beer was ice cold and they have a good variety or different beers to choose from both bottled and on tap.
Come play darts or just hang it and eat. This is a must visit at least once while you are in...
Read moreI’m not sure if this place even means to still be in business, particularly as a restaurant. It is a dive bar-ish place, but it literally stinks inside like stale vomit.
The waitress was rushing us to order our meal from the moment we sat down. She did not re-fill drinks or offer additional beers, she disappeared totally for nearly forty minutes after our order was placed. The food order was incorrect, the salad was made with very brown wilted basically rotten salad mix, and the shrimp might as well have been made of rubber. I made the mistake of ordering raw oysters in marginal season, so I won’t hold the size of the oysters against them, but the amount of shell and sand in them was a little excessive for a “raw bar.” When I politely pointed out the salad and incorrect entree, the waitress walked away without saying a word. The manager(?) came by later to offer to take the one entree off the tab, but replaced it with pre-set gratuity in excess of the value of the entree on a party of five. Despite the terrible food and service, I would have tipped the waitress generously, but find the included gratuity incredibly insulting.
This place is a classic myrtle beach spot, but it is now overpriced trash. I now know why there’s a red lobster at the beach, the local...
Read moreWe went here on the advice of local person. We went in and the place is run down looking and dirty. But since she recommended it we stayed. My husband ordered 2 dozen raw oysters. They weren't shucked properly he kept getting shells in his mouth. We ordered an appetizer and I ordered the fish and chips which is the fish of the day. He ate 1 dozen of his oysters. we ate the appetizer and after waiting 45 min for my food and his other dozen oysters we finally got the waitress CC's attention from where she was on her cell phone and I asked were my food was and his other dozen oysters. Her reply was she was still waiting on my food and when I asked why she said that something was broken and it wasn't ready. If she had not have been on the phone she could have checked and then come back and told me but for 15 min we waited to get her attention. By this time im no longer hungry and told her to forget it. And just so everyone knows the place wasn't crowed there were only 3 couples including us in there. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Its dirty, lousy service. Don't...
