First time here and in my opinion it’s just not 17$ worth. I have been to plenty of build your own salad spots so my opinion has a broader view and understanding of the concept. So currently I’m doing a no meat diet so I figured this spot had plenty of options, but sadly disappointed. They had a cauliflower that was red in color that tasted like some Chinese heavy vinegar and sesame oil. The employees were polite and patient, the restaurant is aesthetically appealing and clean. So was this salad worth 17$ and some change? NO! But they did have plenty of options although I would stay away from any of the marinated vegetables, or even their steamed broccoli, they were not tasty. Make sure you pay attention to how many or how much you’re being served or how much you’re asking for because apparently any extra scoop they charge you for, which is how I ended up paying $17. I asked for extra scoop of feta cheese and some extra lettuce, pumpkin seeds, and pine nuts. I had no protein so I am paying $17 for a salad that is just spring mix lettuce(NO Romain!!)some olive oil, some feta cheese and some vegetables. After I recorded the videos and pictures I did notice the management seemed to be more concerned if I was pleased or not...
Read moreThis particular location is extremely inconsistent with portions. I think they must be getting lectured by their boss on food cost because it is hilarious how inconsistent and undersize their portions are. They call it a salad place but honestly the salad itself is the size of a McDonald's side salad And if you ask for more lettuce, they upcharge on a $15 salad to begin with. Not that I really care but it's kind of insulting. That said, depending on who's working the counter, all the other portions are never served in the same quantities so you never know what you're getting. At least there competitors use portioned spoons, so everybody gets the same thing. I feel like I'm going into the casino every time I go there. am I going to get salad or am I gonna get the kids plate. Oh and be careful with the salad dressing containers because they don't put enough in them for the salad , so you can ask for a second one Which they charge for. They definitely had some...
Read moreMy experience with this place has been a rollercoaster.
The first time I tried their food, I was blown away — amazing flavor, generous portions, fresh ingredients... it was a solid 10/10. Truly something unique that I hadn't found anywhere else!
The second time? Just as excellent.
But then things started to go downhill. By the third visit, the quality noticeably dropped. And the fourth time? It was the worst yet. The meat, the sauce, the vegetables — even the portion size — all felt like a completely different (and much lower-quality) version of what I originally loved. The “Playa the El Mar” dish, which used to be incredible, felt totally off. Same goes for the "Owaloha Poke Shack with Salmon" — it was once so good I was speechless, but no longer.
To be honest, if my first experience had been like the third or fourth, I never would’ve come back. Consistency really matters, and unfortunately, this place seems to...
