Croissants Bistro and Bakery, led by the incredible Chef Heidi Vukov, is a delightful culinary gem located in Myrtle Beach. Our recent breakfast visit to Croissants provided an unforgettable dining experience, highlighting Chef Heidi's exceptional skills and passion for Southern-inspired cuisine.
The moment we were seated, our server treated us to warm mini chocolate chip muffins—a charming and delicious start to our meal. We also ordered the cinnamon bun minis, which arrived as a generous, freshly baked pan of buttery, hot croissant cinnamon rolls that melted in our mouths. Next up were the deviled eggs, creatively filled with a flavorful jalapeno bacon mixture, topped with crispy bacon, and elegantly drizzled with a hint of sriracha hot sauce—a truly outstanding appetizer.
For our main courses, I chose the chicken and waffles, featuring crispy chicken perfectly paired with fluffy waffles and drizzled with honey. The loaded home fries served alongside were complemented by an exceptional scratch-made sour cream, adding a unique twist to this classic breakfast dish. My wife and daughter enjoyed delicious croissant breakfast sandwiches, which showcased thick-cut bacon and eggs cooked to perfection. Meanwhile, our children devoured the kid’s pancakes with sausage—hands down, the fluffiest, scratch-made pancakes we've ever tasted, served with authentic maple syrup.
Chef Heidi’s commitment to fresh, house-made ingredients shines through every dish, creating flavors that both inspire and humble even seasoned home cooks.
Heidi Vukov herself is an inspiring figure in the culinary world. Originally from Altoona, PA, Heidi moved to Myrtle Beach in the early 1990s, determined and ambitious. In 1995, with sheer talent and a $100,000 loan but no collateral, she opened Croissants Bistro & Bakery, swiftly earning the admiration of locals and tourists alike. Her background, deeply rooted in the kitchen traditions of her grandmothers from Pennsylvania and Germany, clearly influences her innovative cooking style.
Today, Heidi also operates Hook & Barrel, known for casual fine dining with a sustainable twist. She continues to shape Myrtle Beach’s food scene with her culinary vision and determination, and Croissants Bistro & Bakery is a testament to her excellence and dedication.

Read moreI used to visit their old location many times and was always pleased. Also, I order all my cakes from them for all my occasions. I got really excited when I heard they opened this new location and of course got my friend and went to give it a try. I love the set up and especially the terrace, but the first time I visited I got pretty disappointed. Me and my friend were sitting outside for bout 20 minutes and nobody approached us. I went inside and asked the lady from the bar if anybody was going to serve us and then she stated that they were actually closed for an event. I told her that it would have been nice of them to inform their customers outside. The second time I went with my husband during lunch. We stayed inside. While the decor was nice, the noise was unbearable. I mean, not the best environment to have a nice conversation. It was busy, but maybe some background music would have had created a better atmosphere. The server was having attitude and the food was mediocre. I ordered a smoothie (the Power one) and that was the worst smoothie I have ever had. I did not even drink it. There were hardly any fruits in it, just some crushed ice and and milk or whatever dairy they use for it. No taste and faraway from a power smoothie. I won't go to that...
Read moreWe came in for breakfast today, around 9am. This was our first visit. The reviews were all excellent for food and service both so we were looking forward to it. We were seated fast, too. But then we were continually ignored by the staff. Nobody came to at least bring us water or to see how we're doing for about 15 minutes! I did see 2 staff members servicing tables next to us, but neither one even looked at us! I understand that it was busy, but someone should have at least come by and acknowledged us sitting there. If they just said 'sorry about your wait, someone will be with you shortly ' that's understandable. But, we were simply being ignored like we didn't exist. My wife was thirsty and wanted water but no one came for about 15 minutes, which seemed very long at the time. So, we had to leave and go elsewhere. We did tell the manager (we think she was) and she was apologetic but it was too late. So, unfortunately we never got to taste the food at all. I am writing this review not out of spite but hopefully the management will see this and...
