We experienced like other reviews I have read; Melanie sorry but you purposely gave POOR SERVICE and for the prices you would expect more from scratch like at least fresh made Spaghetti noodles and a upgraded bread, better tasting escargots, etc. [The red sauce was good, the app, salad, lentil soup okay, but not worth it overall]. Our table and we saw others were not being cared for or checked on, examples; no acknowledgement time and time again we all ran out of water, ice tea, single wine glass all ran out,, waited 20 minutes and two request for sweet n low, soup and salad plates all piled up, 60 minutes to get the salad and soup and we ordered everything within 10 minutes of sitting down, had to ask a someone who looked like a helper, maybe manager not sure, to please check on the food because we went 30 minutes with our waitress, Melanie not ever checking or making eye contact. After we asked for help the manager came over cleared off some things told us it was coming, Melanie then came and asked if anything else and of course there were more empty items on the table asked maybe take those as well, but we watched 2-3 tables that ordered after us already finish their entrees and leave, others asking where is their food. We all have been there are some point. Food came her attitude was already, basically dropped on our table. Lamb was under cooked couldn't eat two of the chops, but who would dare send it back into that kitchen and then who knew how long to see them come back out. My point to the owner, manager, Melanie, and others - if you are going to fill the restaurant and charge full price, we paying customers expect an average experience at least, just the basics would do, otherwise please don't fill the house, don't charge full price if we you are going to give us less than average and make excuses because of people shortages or whatever. If you give less we all should pay less - Charge everyone 20-25% less, say upfront and say you are short or whatever excuses expect less from us, don't fill as many tables and the bar. WE paying customers expect to get what we pay for and this is message for ALL businesses that run around taking customers money and blaming labor or otherwise and ask us to deal with it. If we were not eating dinner with my parents I would have left this place not bothered, most of you would have had as well, and gone on line and ordered take out from Olive Garden, and gotten the same type of food and better service delivered to my car. Good luck and please stop abusing your customers, your customers are the lifeblood, treat them like you actually need them to help run your...
Read moreOrganized a future dinner for 13 people by visiting the restaurant two weeks ahead of time, to have dinner and speak with the hostess/manager. Had a good meal that evening and talked over logistics for two weeks later. When we arrived, they attempted to seat us in a cramped side room at a table for 12, not 13? When we asked about the lack of seating, their solution was to jam one more chair around an already crowded table. It would have been very uncomfortable to dine sitting there. I then requested to be seated at the table(s) that we requested to be at two weeks prior. Table(s) was located along the back wall of the main dining room, which at the time only had one other party of 6 in the entire room. Instead of having the staff slide the 4, four-top tables together to fit our needs, we had to move them ourselves. Waitress was nice but a little unsure of handling a group this size. Drinks arrived in a timely fashion, along with baskets of bread with charred/burnt crusts. Salads and meals were average. Nothing bad, but nothing memorable either. Just average overall.
The group had 6 couples and one single lady. Never having been asked how we'd like the checks, we were told the checks were printed separately after dinner was done.. I asked if we could get them by couple and they assured me it would not be a problem. I stated to the waitress that if it was going to be tough to do, that we would just pair up the single checks ourselves. I was told again that it would not be an issue.
When the waitress returned with the checks by couple, 5 of the 6 checks were incorrect. Mostly what drinks belonged to which couple. The waitress went to each couple and asked them what exactly was wrong. She wrote the correct information on the back of each receipt and took them back to the office to make the necessary changes. This took forever. Overall, the group was forced to wait at least 20+ minutes from the time the meal was over until the time we got the correct checks.
Finally, this all happened on what seemed to be a very slow night for the restaurant. By the time our entrees arrived, the one other table had left, and we were the only people in the main dining room.
Nice waitress and violin player. Everything else left a lot to be desired. Far too disorganized, pretty much from top to bottom....
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this Italian restaurant… The atmosphere was great! The lighting, violinist, and overall feel really sets you up for a great dinner.
Our waitress was extremely nice and knew the menu well. The service was great until our waitress started to get busy, but we understand! She seemed to be very rushed with us. Sped through the specials and we honestly didn’t retain anything that was said after 5 dishes were explained. I asked her to repeat the specials once she came back to take our order, and just got the quick short version. Apparently the specials “of the day” don’t actually change from what one of the waitresses said, so why not just put it in the menu?? Our waters only got refilled once by our waitress. My partner ordered the steak and lobster, but didn’t get asked how he wanted the steak cooked. The lobster was okay, but very chewy. For the price, I would expect it to be perfect. $78 for a 4oz lobster tail and a very mediocre steak… no way was that worth the price. The veggie of the day wasn’t explained. Turns out it was asparagus… haha. We also didn’t get asked if we wanted soup or salad that was supposed to come with both of our meals. So we never got it.
I ordered the trio, which was just okay. The scallops were very chewy and over cooked. The shrimp was rather dry and over cooked as well. The grouper and risotto was great though! But I’m not too sold on the lobster sauce that smothered everything.
The bread and appetizer was great but the dessert was just okay. The top of the crème brûlée was burnt and burnt sugar is not a pleasant taste that you want in your mouth. The dessert was on the house since we were celebrating my birthday, which was very nice of them!
Oh and there was a photographer going to each table to take photos and then tried to sell the photos to you. Which was new for us and found it a little odd. Especially when we were in the middle of eating our appetizer.
So like I said, we have very mixed feelings about...
