So disappointing. I was at the Myrtle Beach location near Coastal Grand Mall earlier today, and I had the worst "service" I have ever experienced at this establishment. My dad was in town, and I was excited to introduce him to this eatery for the first time because it used to be one of my favorites for a good sandwich. When we walked in, there was a party of 2 finishing up at the register, and there was a party of 2 in front of us in line. There were 2 girls working one register, no other registers in use. I'm not sure what the issue was, but it looked like maybe there was a payment problem or something. At one point a manager came up to help them, but the waiting still went on after she left them. About 10 minutes of this confusion finally seems to come to an end as the couple walked away from the counter after paying, and the 2 employees behind the counter slowly start fumbling with the food that was put up at the window (that sat there the entire time during the confusion while the recipients of the food waited just having to watch there food sitting up there ready for them) in the slowest manner I've ever seen employees move. One of them sort of acknowledged us, but she mumbled something so quietly, so we had no idea what she even said. They continued fumbling for about another 2 or 3 minutes, never calling us up to take our order. We were the only people left in line. After realizing that there was seemingly no end in sight to the waiting and nonsense, we finally had to leave. My dad was so upset that we wasted about 15 minutes for absolutely nothing. I have worked in food, and I completely understand that sometimes there are problems you can't control, but there is no excuse for 2 employees never telling us sorry for the wait, or that they would be with us shortly, but ESPECIALLY no excuse for the TWO managers we encountered during this experience that wouldn't even make eye contact with us, let alone just take our order! The first manager was the one trying to assist the girls, and after that, another manager came in from outside. He walked straight to a sink, and I assumed he was washing his hands and was planning on hopping on the register quick to get our order in, but he finished and walked right by us after looking at us, never said a word....
Read moreWhere to begin with this review? On a recent fateful Tuesday, I entered McAlisters with hopes of a chicken caesar wrap in my future. What followed was nothing short of a lunch -disturbing catastrophe that left me with no appetite at all. There was a medical emergency involving a patron which resulted in the staff asking me and my friend, mere customers, what to do in this heightened situation. We responded by encouraging them to call 911, multiple times, after which they continued to stand and stare at the patron in question and ask what to do. The family of said patron finally called and we finished our order and sat down. Without going into too much detail, this person eventually ended up getting shuffled inside and didn’t quite make it to the bathroom in time, resulting in bodily fluids on the floor. We immediately, and understandably, lost our appetites but tried to be polite and power through. The restaurant staff neglected to clean this up in a very timely manner, despite people trying to walk across this area to enter through doors. The only person deserving credit was the manager, who did interface with the family of the patron and try to help. They did finally clean up, but by then I couldn’t really eat and we left. I can safely say, that in light of this situation and how just about every aspect of it was handled, I will never be returning to this restaurant. Beyond this incident, the chicken caesar wrap was dry and mediocre, and served with the saddest excuse of a pickle...
Read morePlace a delivery order and when it arrived an item was missing. I called the store and they said I could only come and get it or get store credit. Neither of these work for me as I am a tour bus driver and that is why I needed delivery and I am from New York so store credit it useless to me. They said if I want a refund I have to contact DoorDash because that is the delivery service they use (I ordered through McAlister's website). I called DoorDash and they said they was not true I would have to contact the store to get a refund. So now I have to contact my Credit Card and dispute the charge. Terrible customer service!!! They screwed up and I have to jump through hoops to get my money back.
DELIVERY CHARGE $3.99 CONVENIENCE FEE $2.42 SERVICE FEE $0.66
So what are they charging all these fees for if they can't get an order right?
And mustard does NOT belong on an Italian Combo. This in addition to it being VERY salty. Who taught these people how to make a sandwich?
UPDATE I won my dispute and was refunded the cost of the item and those ridiculous fees by my CC. But I shouldn't have had to take that step. An honest business would have done right by the customer instead of just hoping they would go away. Well they were right about 1 thing, I am going away and won't ever come back to any...
