3.5 āļøā¦mixed drinks definitely hit the spot, service was good, not great(did have a BIG group). Meal was pretty good, the wife and I had burgers and we both had same thoughts, buns was nicely toasted and light, I like that. Cooked perfectly for me and very tasty overall. The coleslaw was okā¦like the freshness taste but prefer the sweet tangy of KFC slaw. Actually wanted sushi š£ but not quite sure we want sushi at a place like thisā¦so we passed. Definitely would like to stop again and maybe take a stab and the sushi if we feel adventurous enough. I just didnāt feel like ruining our love affair with sushi.
4.0 āļø the second time aroundā¦Dear Ownerā¦guess what? We went back and actually tried the sushi š£! Again with a large group but way less then the first. Yes, the service was very good this time. Everyone enjoy their meal and the sushi was good. Although I do like my sushi, I canāt say it was the best. There were three of us that had sushi and we all enjoyed it. From what I gather all enjoy our time/food there. I really appreciate the attentiveness of the server that saw my drink was low and asked if I needed another. I love good to great service!
I do have a minor suggestion that would make my experience be a lot more enjoyable. Albeit it was my mistake and itās a mistake that I am glad to make at your establishment during this situations. When it comes to TIP I do my best to add 20%+ā¦especially when my experience is great, I TIP accordingly. I was not aware that the TIP was added to the bill. Yes, I should have read the bill more carefully. I have a bad habit of looking at the bottom number and calculate the TIP from that. As a result the TIP mounted to .697. Yes, almost 70%.
Just recently I ordered a few sandwiches from one of those chain restaurants. Some paid added request was missing as I TIP before service was rendered. Had a horrible experience trying to straighten it out. So I hope you would understand our predicament as customers.

The food oh boy first we ordered the fried green tomatoes. As a staple in the south, very disappointed because the tomatoes had a musky after taste as they were getting too ripe. The sushi was luke warm the avocado was warm and mushy and the roll was bland. My blt all the bacon was on one side but crispy the way it should be the only star on my plate to be honest. However the tomatoes were starting to turn or had been bruised as well so it dimmed the sandwich as a whole. Then my side of mac and cheese was dry on top like it had been sitting under a warming lamp for a long while before being served. My girlfriend got the mac n cheese grilled cheese. Again dry and a tiny bit of bacon in one side while the rest on the other again unimpressed. Her side salad was how we should say tasteful. But it was like it had been stored in a manner in the fridge that it took on the taste of foods around it.
Lastly as we were getting ready to leave an employee was eating off the sushi bar between 945pm and 1020pm.
Now the experience while walking in a server is yelling at the hostess for some reason in the lobby. To which she's told fix the issue and do what she's supposed to. The server responds if they (i'm assuming another server) would do it she wouldn't have to. To which the hostess responded that the server is the problem. Very unprofessional on both fronts. I understand work conflict happens but in full view of patrons is embarrassing.
In short I paid 83 dollars for a very poor experience. I will not be back period lesson learned. As a local very disappointed in a local brand...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEvery year my family visits me in the summer time, and grumpy monk has been the pick for the last 3 years. Every time we have gone, itās been great, except for this time unfortunately. Our server was very sweet, however, we had to get up a few times to get her because she did not come back to our table for quite some time. At the end of the meal she apologized for poor service and said she got slammed with like 5 tables at once. I do understand this happens in food service, working in the restaurant industry for many years. Personally, my wrap was great. My boyfriend said the sushi was really good, and the mahi tacos were great. However, my sisters and dad ordered the boneless wings, because they were out of traditional. Unfortunately, the food runner handed my sister hot wings and said they were medium. I understand they look very similar sometimes, but sheās 12, and when we found out it was too late that she had the wrong ones. They were also extremely overcooked and chewy. But, we were so hungry and our server did not come back, so we ate them. We were also all halfway through our meal when we had to get up and get our server because we were missing a whole meal. We had to get up to pay the bill as well, because we sat there for a decent amount of time with the payment ready. I do not like leaving bad reviews, but I felt this experience was enough to bring to attention. I hope the next time we come back, it is a better...
