Jersey Mike's Subs — Restaurant in Nags Head

In the past, we loved this Jersey Mike’s location but something has happened…it’s awful. It’s clearly got new workers and/or ownership that is not prioritizing quality and service.

This is a regular stop for us on our vacation. It’s always been ok (yes, we are used to food spots being packed at the OBX). In the past, we have ordered ahead and it’s been decent. Good food and the food is ready on time. This week, we go the first time once and the place is backed up. Well I wait, and wait, and wait, for my order to be brought out and it doesn’t happen. I finally get in line to ask for my order, which at this point is ten min plus past their estimated time and over thirty min from the time I ordered. I gave them the benefit of the doubt, they were busy. We finally got our order and I let it go.

Then we tried it again. Ordered early, order was supposed to be ready at a certain time. Show up at my time and, that’s fine, you’re busy I’ll wait. It wasn’t ready. But I had to wait more than 30 minutes past the time they estimated it would be ready. Mind you, this made the wait well over an hour from my actual order time (I ordered around 12:40) It made no sense. Saw several people who had arrived after me and ordered in real time get their orders before mine.

This location has ZERO BUSINESS taking online orders when they cannot handle them. When my order is supposed to be ready at a few minutes after one, and I don’t get it until 1:45, there is a major problem. My order should have been ready FAR BEFORE all the people in your horrendously long line because I placed it so much earlier!!! Never again. This location should...

Called to get a box of subs and asked for the toppings on the side so that our party could make their own custom sub at home. The kid who answered the phone could not answer any questions, the manager Devon, came on the line and said they couldn't put the toppings on the side. I asked that they put the toppings in the container they use for salads and Devon informed us they were out of those (really?? Are you making salads for people??) When I said I had no problem at any other jersey mikes with the same request, Devon then said they just do not put the toppings on the side. So originally she said they were out of salad containers and then she said they don't ever put toppings on the side...which is it?? Apparently the franchise owner and manager decided they would not ever accommodate this request for some odd reason. We did not order anything from this location. We ordered from another local sub shop who was more than happy to make our subs and package the condiments and toppings in a separate container. Also, I think the franchise owner and the manager Devon should try and accommodate their customers better, this was not a crazy request. the manager did call me back 20 minutes after I hung up and said the franchise owner would make one exception for me. 10/2021 Cameron and Chase I believe also Juan has the best customer service, they accommodate my changes and do it with friendly service..they get better everytime I go in.. thanks for the awesome service and even short handed do it with a smile.. 8/2021 ..the meatball sub, and a creature of habit I get the same every time, but those with me, always enjoy there sandwiches as well. The service is friendly and speedy, I also love the ability to use my Mike's card to receive and eventually redeem for sandwiches later. Only issue is the website, which makes it complicated to correct or go online to order.. still has some tweaking to do..but, as far as taste, and service, its' great. If any issue, its I only wish it was a bit more affordable, but I suppose that's the price you pay for better quality. Then again, a small price drop would most definitely give more the ability to go, and enjoy the subs, and help Mike's with more sales, just a thought.. otherwise I'll continue going as a treat to myself..but would love to go more if prices ever go down a bit.. 5 stars, food...
