I've never had an owner be so rude to customers before.
My friends and I ordered sushi and when we picked it up our order was completely wrong - and this wasn't the first time. We were already hesitant about ordering again but last time they refunded the mistake and we also got a $25 coupon. (They didn't have what we wanted so instead gave us something else and charged us for it).
This time, we called and an employee told us they would refund the items that were not right. Great! However, a day passes and we still don't get our refund. My friend calls the restaurant and gets on the phone with the owner. The owner says he refuses to give us our money back and if we want to discuss it we have to come down there to talk to him. He then literally hangs up the phone on him. THE OWNER!
We get there and calmly address the situation. We tell him how we are disappointed with the constant mistakes and would like a refund. He argues back that because there was nothing wrong with the "quality" of the food he will not refund us and we can get a gift certificate. We explain to him that, at this point, we have no interest in coming back and simply want a refund. This conversation only lasted about 2 minutes before he starts to get angry and raise his voice at us. He literally yells "Get the f*ck out of my restaurant" and proceeds to call the police on us. We exit the restaurant, sit outside and wait for the police to come.
Wow, this guy made himself look like a crazy person. The police come and tell us how this is essentially, the biggest waste of their time. This is not their job. One of them even said that this man seems "not very nice." The owner ends up getting into a yelling argument with the head police officer because the officer was explaining to him that he can not call the police on customers for wanting a refund. It was kinda funny at that point.
Never go here. It's subpar sushi anyways. This guy seriously doesn't give a single sh*t about his customers at all! He just...
Read moreIf you're considering dining at Bar Yoshi in Nantucket, I’d recommend thinking twice. Despite the appealing ambiance, the overall experience was underwhelming, particularly when it came to the food quality and service. The sushi, which should be the star of the menu, lacked freshness and flavor, leaving us disappointed. Some of the fish had a questionable texture, and the rice was poorly seasoned.
Service was another major letdown. The staff seemed disinterested and inattentive, making us feel like an afterthought. Our orders took an unusually long time to arrive, and when they finally did, several items were incorrect. Attempts to address these issues with the staff were met with indifference, further souring the experience.
Considering the premium prices, we expected a much higher level of quality and care. Unfortunately, Bar Yoshi did not deliver, and there are far better options for sushi and Japanese cuisine in Nantucket that offer a more satisfying...
Read moreWhere do I begin. My brother and I used to frequent this place when it was Sushi by Yoshi. Food was always good, but the service sucked and staff was typically rude. I've come to Bar Yoshi a few times now, and the food has actually gotten worse. For $3 for each piece of sushi(around $20-30 per roll)it's definitely not worth the price. The restaurant also throws on an additional gratuity fee, separate of the tip, without disclosing it to customers, in lieu of paying their employees. They simply slap on a fee at the end of each check, in the hopes their customers won't notice. It's not the cost of the fee that bothers me, but the fact that I am being charged for something that was not initially disclosed- that's simply unethical.
Overall, considering food, service, hospitality, and prices, I wouldn't recommend coming...
