We were greeted by two very young girls, we asked specifically if they had hot lobster rolls. We were told by the hostesses there were two , they were available upon request! We were eight guests and seven of us ordered lobster rolls. Upon arriving to the table away just appeared very tall took an order for drinks. Tell me what time to order she stood at the end of the table taking the eight orders. She literally rolled her eyes at us that she had to walk to the end the end of the table to take the order from the gas at that side of the table. One of the guest ordered bread, they brought two baskets. We were unsure if it was two orders we only wanted one. The waitress then returned after her server had dropped the baskets. She was very annoyed and snapped at us saying that because there was eight at the table she split up the bread into two baskets. And if she win, when the food arrived the lobster rolls which were the only thing we were there for mini lobster rolls. We have all traveled the world the age of our guess I never saw such a thing. The warm lobster rolls were cold had absolutely no flavor and had shredded lobster on top just like shredded crab fake out of a bag. They were $50 each !!! We tried to get her attention to see if we could get a little bit of butter since there was none on these mini lobster rolls but she never returned. She never returned to see if we needed anything else, also when we asked her for separate bills she said it was absolutely impossible and rolled her eyes at us again she was extremely rude. Our bill was $350 for seven mini lobster rolls a bowl of salad and some macaroni and cheese. Oh sorry there were three cocktails ordered. I would just consider this a tourist trap gouging guests . She was given a $70 tip be paid all in cash. She never thanked us we never asked us how the food was. Today I called the restaurant asking for the manager, the food and beverage manager was not there the general manager was not there. I did speak to a young lady named Stephanie who took my phone number as I asked to speak to the general manager when he returns supposedly tomorrow. Stephanie just kept saying that her chef… That was the way he made the lobster rolls so I guess there’s no quality control even though they’re $50 for these mini lobster rolls. If it truly was a chef he would’ve never served the Horrendous mini lobster rolls. There’s a huge difference between a chef and just someone in the kitchen cooking. These lobster rolls were not made by Chef!! A chef takes pride in the food that is presented to the guest at the table. Hopefully the general manager Matt will return my call tomorrow. I would highly not recommend this restaurant. The service was poor the attitude was horrific and the food was...

Greeting: My wife and I were greeted by Elena. She was very welcoming despite a steady stream of calls coming to the hostess stand. She handled the calls and the guest walking in with poise and grace.
Seating: We were sat at a table overlooking the harbor. I dare say there is not a bad table in the outside seating area. The sound of the harbor and the scent of the flowers is wonderful.
Setting: Our table was set for two upon arrival. The settings faced the water and each other. The water glasses and the silverware were spotless. No water stains. Impressive.
Atmosphere: I was pleasantly surprised at the mixture of families with small children, young adults having a night out, mature couples enjoying their meal. The lawn with the corn-hole game was wonderful for adults and children. The inclusive outdoor dining area on the deck and the lawn allowed each demographic to have fun.
Facilities: The facilities were spotless, well lit and well supplied. Elan kept the place looking great, despite children dining there. Thank you Elan.
Service: Impressive. Michael was our waiter. He did a great job greeting us, guiding us on our orders, and watching over our dinner from a respectful distance. Bob, the manager of the place stopped by to welcomed us and checked back with us later in the meal. It is clear his professional attention to detail is sincere. Michael and Bob, well done.
Food: Excellent. The farm fresh tomatoes from Bartlett's Farm hit the spot. The lobster was grilled and prepared for easy eating. The lobster was cooked perfectly. The Filet was juicy, and cooked just right. The chef's suggestion of several sauces gave me the unique chance to taste each sauce. I decided on red wine sauce as the primary. I learned how each sauce brought out a different flavor. Now the desert. The black forest cake served with a sorbet was a strong ending to the meal. Split between my wife and I, the desert was filling but not too filling.
Overall: Casual Elegance. I will eat there again on my next trip to the island. I look forward to their...
Read moreBPG has been a family favorite for years, and we always go there at least once each summer.
This summer (2023), the food was NOT good. We stared with the ceviche, which was on the lower end of ceviches that I have had. The dressing was weak, and there was no vessel to eat it with so we had to use our utensils. The halibut was significantly overcooked and had taken the texture of fiber. The lobster mac and cheese was lacking seasoning, the lobster was overcooked (not quite as badly as the halibut), and was served lukewarm. The chicken was completely bland as well. The tuna was pretty good, but unfortunately was the only good dish of the 6 or so my table bought.
For $50 an entree, the food should be excellent, regardless of the Nantucket tax. The drinks are also more expensive as compared to previous years.
Disappointed that such a favorite spot of ours has gone downhill. Hopefully next year they are back in form, although we may not be...
