Wanted to spotlight one of the DWDV fam’s favorite spots in Napa: Angele! My boo & I were craving dessert one night after a dinner elsewhere and saw they had my all time favorite dessert, bread pudding so we decided to try it. It was DELICIOUS. We went JUST for the bread pudding another time and we’re like, “We should probably try the rest of the menu” Since then, everything we’ve had has been outstanding. Let me give you a quick rundown: Wine List - DOPE! - Great selection of French & Californian gems. They also offer carafes & half bottles which are nice options to have. Food - Incredible - The best mussels and frites I’ve ever had. The salads are inspirational. The burger is everything you want and more. I mean, the food so good that even Pops tried the escargot and liked it! Ha. Seriously, this is one of those places where you feel free to take a risk because you know you will be rewarded with something beyond your expectations. Decor - The flowers are always on point. Mom always loved when restaurants had stunning flower displays so I appreciate the work that is put into that aspect. The vibe transports you to the French countryside which always gives me warm memories of our family time in Provence.. Service - Exceptional attention to detail whether you’re stopping in for bread pudding, a glass, or a meal. Bonus - They source from EXCELLENT producers like Tenbrink Farms & Vineyards

Great location in the old Napa River riverfront. I love French cuisine so when I saw escargot and French onion soup on the menu, I had to try. Napa is wine country, but what paired best with our light dinner from Angele was a nice cold Kronenbourg lager! To be fair, we had lunch on the Napa Wine train and were still half full. Therefore, we mostly ordered from the starters menu. Most of the dishes were salty, especially the escargot (with pastry puffs) and the onion soup. The cold beer washed them down well. The pate board was more delicate and the salad was refreshing. The French bread was excellent. I wish we had more room to taste and try more entrées. Maybe next time. I loved the outdoor gazebo/patio, that had fly screens (full protection) on 3 of the 4 sides. It was a beautiful outdoor space. They allow dogs. The service was ok, but I wish the service team would come by more often and see that we had dishes and plates to clear from our table. Again, in fairness, i hope to come back and try the other dishes and entrées. With our limited appetite, there's nothing we would reorder again, but we'll be sure to bring our appetites next time.

Everything about my meal was awesome. I had the steak tartare which was fantastic. I ordered the duck, which I don't normally eat, but given my appetizer, I skipped over the steak frites and went with the duck, it was probably the best duck I have eaten. It was our anniversary, and they had happy anniversary printed on our menu as well as gave us an anniversary dessert. My wife loved her french onion soup, and she thought the beef bourguignon was just okay ( whatever was served underneath was too hard and bland ). We've been drinking wine all day, so I asked for dirty vodka martinis which were fantastic, they did not have blue cheese stuffed olives but I stuffed my own with a side of Roquefort cheese that they have on the menu. All in all a great night, great ambiance, we actually enjoyed our meal much better than the highly rated Bottega up in Yountville where we ate the night before. I was pleasantly surprised based on a few of the critical reviews I have read on the restaurant. It was much nicer than I had anticipated and the food was great, service was as expected. Definitely worth a visit!! Two thumbs up!

A place like this is normally above my paygrade but given we were on vacation and our daughter recommended it we decided to stop in for lunch during our riverfront promenade. The place is small, but it was bustling with life during our lunch hour. Given the crowd it wasn't obnoxiously loud. We were greeted and seated upon entry - no waiting. Servers were attentive. My wife liked her expresson martini, but rated it slightly below Annesso's (in Fresno). i ordered a glass of the house beaujolais. We enjoyed our drinks with bread and butter. I ordered their French onion soup and was not disappointed. It was some of the best I've had since I fell in love with the soup nearly 50 years ago. My wife ordered the macaroni and cheese and shared a side of broccolini. All good and no complaints. All tolled with tax and tip we spent exactly $150.00. More than I like to spend for a lunch but given the occassion there were no regrets and tbh --- I would do it again on a future visit. Not a 5-star restaurant - but 5 stars for what it is. PS --> Also --- clean restrooms!

French restaurant and bar on the Main Street. Location is great and the view was beautiful overlooking the Napa riverfront. The service was excellent, tables were cleaned after each course. The prices were high, and the food was good. Fresh baguette and butter were served before the meal. We ordered: Lavender lemonade: ok. 4*LE MENU FORMULE DU JOUR which included 3-Course Menu Of The Day: salad, pasta, and dessert. 4*Salad: original blend of beets, onions and other vegetables. Light and refreshing. 5*Pasta: Al dente pasta with marinated beef. It was original and smoky flavor. Perfect dish! 3*Chocolate mousse: very rich, per normal. 4*ESCARGOT: cooked with garlic, parsley, and beurre blanc. Served with puff pastry. Very original and quite tasty. 3*SALT SPRING MUSSELS cooked with white wine, shallots, and thyme. Served with french fries. Mussels were tender, mild taste. The sauce was a bit oily. I think it’s better to serve with baguette. 4*CLASSIC CRÈME BROLÉE: ordinary but delicious.
