Let me just say... if there were more stars available for this review they would have gotten them! This was the BEST money we spent on food the entire 3 days we were in town, however, it was MUCH more than just food! They provided us an experience. We felt at home. Our waitress, Dawn, was so friendly and service oriented. She kept up with the wine level in our glasses and NEVER let our glass run dry! She was personable, she shared the things that she loved about California. Her service was top notch. We actually went to Grace’s table on Fri-yay when we arrived, for their happy hour. WOW! Was that a bargain!!! I had the fried poached egg. It was served on a salad that WAS TO DIE FOR!! There was so much thought in ever single bite that I took. I wanted to lick the plate. We had the corn and pork taco. Delish! If I have to leave a critique on this, I would have like more parmesan on the fries. (Maybe that’s the big girl in me talking) 🤷🏻♀️ We met the owner during this time. He’s also the chef. We call him Chef. He was a big part of our experience! He gave us tips on food around town. He told us about his empanada, on the menu, and how it was his grandfathers recipe. WOWZA’S the best empanada my husband or myself has ever had! We decided to visit Grace’s Table for dinner on sunday night, after the fine time we had on Fri-yay! We had the steak frites and scallop risotto. IT WAS AH-MAZING!!!! Go! Spend your money here! They deserve it and you will NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!

We had a party of 2 at 11:00 am on a Friday. The hostess told us we could be seated right away, but was very straightforward by telling us the table would be outside in the sun. We brought sunscreen, so we didn’t mind! Johanna was our waitress and she was very patient with us as we figured out what we wanted to eat. I also had a complicated order and she got it completely right!! Besides Johanna, a lot of other people took care of us, refilled our water, and cleared our plates. They were all wonderful! Here’s what we got: - Grace’s Table Cinnamon Roll ($4): The cinnamon roll was big, but it didn’t taste that fresh and it wasn’t warm. After seeing other people’s pictures of the Iron Skillet Cornbread, I wish we had gotten that instead! The cinnamon roll was still tasty though. Be warned there are raisins in it! - Pulled Pork and Egg Taco ($16): I didn’t try this myself, but my husband said it was super good. Very filling! - Cage Free Eggs Any Style ($14 + $2 for cheese): I subbed a pancake for the bacon/sausage. The pancake was amaaaazing! And it came with sliced strawberries on top! Yum! I also added cheese to my eggs. They were very generous with the cheese, though I think they should’ve only charged $1 extra. The potato cake was delicious too! The few slices of fresh fruit were also very good and ripe. Good food and good service!

I would like to start by saying that the FOH (Front of House) staff are exceptionally nice and friendly. However, when it comes to the food, it left much to be desired. I began my meal with an appetizer, opting for the cornbread. It was excessively moist, to the point of resembling a cornbread pudding, which was not appealing. Unfortunately, it was almost entirely tasteless. The only reason it wasn't sent back was due to the honey lavender butter that accompanied it, making it just barely palatable. Without that butter, I would not have been able to eat it. For the main course, I ordered the Cassoulet, which was also disappointingly bland. I had to ask for salt just to give it some flavor, which allowed me to eat a portion of it. The garlic sausage had an odd, spongy texture and seemed improperly made. The carrots in the dish were mushy and lacked the proper texture. The duck was severely overcooked, rubbery, and overly salty, which was surprising given that the rest of the dish was so bland. The butter beans were cooked correctly but were severely under-seasoned. It seemed like nothing in the dish was tasted before being sent out. Given this experience, I am unlikely to return. It appears that the eggs Benedict are their most highly reviewed item, which might explain their overall rating of four stars or higher. However, based on my experience, I believe the kitchen needs to make some significant adjustments and improvements.

Food We ordered the beet salad to share and it was really good!!!! I got the shrimp and grits served with poached eggs. I had my eggs poached medium, and they were poached perfectly. I like my hot food, hot and the grits were not hot. They were just above room temperature. The eggs were hot, but the grita were not. There were only two shrimp, and if you've ever had shrimp and grits, then you know two shrimp are not sufficient. So that was disappointing. The andoullie sausage was plentiful. Overall, I would rate it a 3.5 out of 5. My friend had the tacos, and while she didn't elaborate, she stated she enjoyed it. Service We were a party of two and were seated promptly. Service was good. They were very attentive...and as weird as this is going to sound...overly attentive. They came by repeatedly to ask us if we were done with our food, but they never came by to ask if they could refresh our water or ask if we needed anything else. Why they were pleasant, we just found that really odd. Atmosphere The restaurant has a welcoming and comfortable environment. There was plenty of seating, and I did not feel crowded. Public parking is within a block of the restaurant at the corner of Second and Randolph. I would definitely come again and try other dishes on their menu. The pancakes looked delicious.

Some food before Bottlerock. Good ratings, walkable distance, what's not to love? I was flying solo so I was able to grab a table outside almost immediately. Waiters were attentive and efficient. Food was tasty. Pastries were killer. Decent wine list. Good impromptu breakfast. The good: the CORNBREAD! The host suggested I try it, and she was spot on. Moist and savory sweet with honey herb butter. Great start to the morning. The Benedict was on point as well except that one of the two eggs was over and not runny. The other was perfect. The hollindaise was executed beautifully, however. The price was reasonable as well. My server was really helpful and friendly. I felt like I was a friend and not just another face at a table. The bad: looks like the line here can get long, so be prepared! The mediocre: the peach belini was decent but nothing special. I switched to regular wine almost immediately and was much happier. The potato cake that came with the benedict desperately needed salt and seasoning. It was cooked well, but lacking in the wow department. Overall: very good breakfast and service. Good pastries. Will befinitiely be back.
