We tried Bleu Provence for the first time on September 6 during Naples Sizzle month. Our meal from start to finish was truly memorable.
We did not have a reservation but stopped off on the off chance and were greeted in a friendly and professional manner by the hostesses. Although we had no reservation we were offered the choice of two tables inside (our preference), although they have a beautiful outdoor dining area.
We both ate from the excellent value Sizzle menu. We chose the smoked salmon starter, steak frites and profiteroles for dessert. All three courses were excellent and perfect portions and execution. The profiteroles were truly memorable! Sorry no photos, our cellphones were benched for the evening, as we enjoyed our meal.
The decor and atmosphere is a little piece of the South of France transported by a French family who call Naples home to Naples. It is in a sense the best of both worlds, the South of France in Naples.
The service was also excellent. Jim who served us intuitively knew when we needed assistance and when we were best left in peace to enjoy our meal. He was assisted by a number of different colleagues all of whom worked well together. Valentina was particularly welcoming and helpful.
They have an excellent wine list for those who know wine, as well as the ability to help find the right choice to accompany the meal. The world class Sommelier is discreetly on hand to assist and clearly knows his calling. For those who simply wish for a glass of wine, there is a less intimidating “glass” list with some excellent choices.
This is a world class restaurant in the heart of Naples offering memorable food, service and atmosphere in a welcoming and unpretentious way. The chance to sample it on a Prix Fixe menu during Sizzle month is not to be missed, particularly given it must be packed during season....

So, picture this: I walk into Bleu Provence thinking I’m just going to be moderately impressed. You know, maybe a nice piece of bread, some overpriced cheese, and a server who pronounces “prix fixe” like they have a baguette in their soul. 🥖😌
But OH NO. Bleu Provence said, “Sit down, peasant. You're about to taste the divine.” 😩🙏
First of all, the ambiance? I felt like I accidentally wandered into the countryside of France by falling through a wine cellar portal behind Whole Foods. 🇫🇷✨ Every table whispering, “We don’t serve food, we serve art and emotional awakenings.”
I ordered the duck, because why not live a little? That duck was so tender I considered writing it a poem. 🦆💔 And the wine? The sommelier didn't just recommend a wine — he curated a personal journey through a vineyard in Burgundy that ended with me crying softly into my glass. 🍷😭
The cheese platter? Look, I’ve dated people with less complexity than that cheese board. It had character development. Backstory. A plot twist. 🧀📖
Also, shout out to the server who had the charisma of a Parisian philosopher and the patience of a saint — especially when I asked if “escargot” was a fancy way to say “tiny meatballs.” 🐌😅
This isn’t just a restaurant — it’s a spiritual revival in French sauce.
If you leave here unimpressed, you probably eat frozen fish sticks and call it “European cuisine.” 😬❄️🎣

I have recently found this gem hidden from the popular 5th Ave. and 3rd St. area, with my family. Fantastique! The restaurant is relatively small, which I like, clean, and the staff courteous and attentive. The menu is not vast, but that is often a good sign: it means they're likely to be very good at making a few dishes, rather than try too hard at making everything, mediocrely.
The dishes are delicious, and fortunately, properly French (non-americanized). The escargot, foie gras, and påtè terrine are fantastic. If you want something lighter, we found the fennel & orange slices salad fresh and flavorful.
For main course, it would not be a proper French dining experience without bouillabaise, and duck! The one particular item that caught our attention was a duck confit burger. Yes, I know, americanized french food! But it was the only one quirky item, and reading the description, it sounded too good to pass.
Fair to say, it was AMAZING. Not for the faint of heart (literally, the most cholesterol-rich sandwich you can ask for, haha).
The wine list is what gives this restaurant its fame and reputation, and the wine collection itself spans over 35,000 bottles, featuring French, Italian, and many other vintages from Europe and even some New World selections.
This wonderful, small piece of France transplanted in Naples can be found on 8th Street South, just North of Crayton Cove, not far from the marina.
Highly...
