Popped into The Vine Room on a whim last Friday night. It was around 8pm, but we were still surprised to be seated in less than 10 minutes (no reservation; party of 4) based on what we heard. Pleasantly surprised! (But dang was that door intimidating...)
We had already eaten, so really only interested in trying some of their drinks--plus the cheese trolley was on a break, which is what we were really curious about in the food department. The plates we saw ordered by others had great presentation--but they were super small for the price. Looked good though!
Speaking of presentation... Very pretty drinkies. They were only doing Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 on Friday night... But still plenty to choose from. And. Not like you can experiment a whole lot at those prices anyway, eh? Or maybe you can. My group was of modest means, though we splurged and each had a couple of drinks... and they were all very cool looking and tasty. Worth the price? Not sure... I usually go for a bogo draft on a happy hour. But! Was a great experience.
The place was packed... Super packed, and they seat you close. So. Great place to make new friends. The service was quick despite the crowd and our server and the hostess were very knowledgeable and friendly. Only negative with service was when our server came to inform us they were doing last call, but it was only a few after 9 yet and they were still seating new walk-ins. Pretty insulting, but I guess we had plateued. The size of the tables was teeny-tiny--again, prepare to make new friends--but overall the environment and setup was not too bad. Oh... And linen-like cocktail napkins as coasters is a nice detail worth mentioning.
So yeah... Overall not so bad a stop, but prices may make it best for those special occasions or a great way to end a night on 5th.
Pictures by Chapter from the menu... Have some captions for 'em as, per suggested, I was a bit intimidated by the place.
Chapter 1: "How I Lost My Money"
Chapter 2: "Ode to Poor Life Choices"
Chapter 3: Wait... Dang. I think the bartender saw me take the picture.
Chapter 4: The server just whispered something to the manager...
Vintage List: Are they coming over...

Read moreI don’t usually write negative reviews, but this time I’m forced to do it. My wife and I were looking forward to returning to The Vine Room, a place we’ve always enjoyed for its ambiance and warm atmosphere. Unfortunately, our experience last night was far from what we remembered.
While our drinks arrived promptly, we waited an unacceptable 40 minutes for our snacks, which are meant to complement the drinks. I understand they had a DJ to create a festive mood, but the volume was louder than normal, which was the wrong choice for that environment. To make matters worse, a nearby table was so loud and inconsiderate that we couldn’t hear each other talk. Shockingly, we found out it was the owner creating this disturbance. It’s hard to understand how a restaurant owner could be so inconsiderate in such a small space!
This situation not only ruined our evening but also affected everyone around us. By the end of the night, we were still waiting for food and feeling famished. As a former restaurant owner and chef, I've always prioritized my customers' experiences, especially local residents who are vital during the off-season.
To add to the disappointment, the owner looked up my phone number from RESY and called me this morning—not to apologize, but to belittle me and call me a failure in the industry. He even banned me from the premises for simply expressing my concerns. This call was not only questionable legally, but to harass a patron in this manner is inexcusable behavior. Instead of addressing my feedback, the owner chose to attack my character and dismiss my experience.
I hope The Vine Room takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how to better serve their guests. I will not be returning to this establishment and would advise others to think twice before visiting, as it seems that constructive criticism is unwelcome and met...
