If I could give this place 0 stars I would. My girlfriend and I went for dinner and I have to say this is BY FAR the worst restaurant on Fifth Avenue. First things first, we were placed on the second floor in a tiny space where there was no AC whatsoever. My girlfriend gets both hot and claustrophobic very easily was very uncomfortable and I asked if we could move tables and they said “We’ll see what we can do”, yet they never came back to me with an answer. We were told the specials by the waitress and it all sounded great… at first. We ordered the shellfish platter which the waitress said was “Rich in a variety of fish that comes in a piping hot sauce.” We wait and hour for the appetizer to get there and when it gets to the table, there is about maybe 1 piece of a little lobster tail, a scallop, and the rest is full of mussels and calms. The sauce was absolutely cold and it cost me 69 dollars for a small plate that the waitress said could feed “4 people”. Already outraged, I complained to the waitress and she said she would talk to chef. Then, we order our entrees, which was a type of pasta. The waitress then said “Would you like to add a protein? I usually recommend 3-4 scallops”. I said okay and my girlfriend got the same thing. It takes another hour for the pastas to be cooked and it comes to the table ice cold. I take a bite into it and it’s as salty as the ocean. I immediately complained to the waitress and said that it was completely unpalatable. We just wanted to get out of there at this point because our night was basically ruined by the complete and utter failure that the restaurant proclaims for its utmost balance to food, flavor, and social life. I get the bill and it’s 300 DOLLARS WITHOUT TIP. The waitress fails to mention that the pasta for each person was 40 dollars and each additional scallop was 10 dollars. How do you have the nerve to say “Would you like a protein, I recommend 4 scallops” and not mention that each additional scallop is 10 dollars? So for both my girlfriend and I, our pastas were 80 dollars each since the pasta itself was 40 dollars and the 4 additional scallops were another 40 dollars. When I tell you STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS POSSIBLE, I mean it. There are so many better restaurants on Fifth Avenue that are actually worth your time and money than this joke of...
Read moreWe came here on a busy Friday night during the holiday period, and had made a reservation well in advance. The restaurant was very busy upon our arrival, and we were politely informed our table would be ready shortly. We were taken to the upstairs bar for a drink while we waited. The bartender was great, and was able to make us a few variations on the cocktail menu based upon what my wife and I both liked to drink. After waiting 30 minutes past our reservation, I was told that because of the cold weather outside, people who had been seated outdoors had been requesting to move inside and had delayed our table being ready. I'm not sure how that should have affected us given we had a prior reservation for an indoor table, but nonetheless we were seated nearly 45 minutes after our reservation time.
We found the Mediterranean focused food to be very good, sharing the snapper crudo, spicy lamb Turkish pizza, loaded hummus, roasted cauliflower, and the lamb meatballs. We opted for splitting several mezze/appetizers as the main dishes seemed a little overpriced. The food quality was excellent, and the sommelier was helpful in selecting a bottle of red that paired nicely with our tastes. The wine list is loaded with the expected West Coast pinot/cab selections that you'll find at every high-end restaurant in town, but to their credit did feature a few dozen different styles/varieties from across the world. Service was very slow at the end paying our bill, and seemed a little disorganized as we were trying to pay and leave. Overall, very good food, but disappointing that they seemingly overbook reservations and our visit took much longer than it needed to...
Read moreWe celebrated our one-year anniversary at Del Mar in Naples, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect experience. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with warmth, care, and top-tier hospitality.
Cory, our waiter, was absolutely phenomenal. He was professional, personable, and went above and beyond to ensure every detail of our meal was flawless. His attentiveness and genuine enthusiasm made us feel incredibly well taken care of.
Jill, the manager, personally came over to check on us — a gesture that meant so much. Her kindness and professionalism truly reflected the standard of excellence Del Mar is known for. You can tell this team values every guest and takes real pride in the service they provide.
A special shoutout to the bartender, who made me a drink that made me a quick drink and knew exactly what I wanted without me even have to say too much. It wasn’t just a cocktail — it was an experience in itself. Even though she only made one drink, her energy and care made it feel like a signature moment of the night.
Between the impeccable service, the warm ambiance, and the thoughtful touches throughout (including acknowledging our anniversary), we left feeling deeply appreciated and already talking about our next visit.
Del Mar made our milestone unforgettable. Highly, highly recommend it for any special occasion — or simply for anyone who loves incredible food and five-star service. Thank you to Cory, Jill, and the...
