We travelled from DC to Nashville just to go. We were looking for new places to try and couldn’t remember if we had been to Chuy’s but after we sat down we remembered we went to the one in Springfield, Virginia.
Upon arrival, (Sunday, 10/26/25 at approximately 2 or 3p) there was a girl at the host stand (I tried to look at her name tag). I THINK it was Alicia, however, Alicia didn’t speak or acknowledge us AT ALL. She didn’t say a word. She stood there shuffling through whatever she was doing, and then another woman walked up a few moments later, asked us how can she help us (Alicia walked off) and she took us to get our seats.
When we got to our seats, they was refried beans and some other stuff splattered on the seat. Since the one who seated us had already walked off I went back to the host stand to let the girl know who sat us down and she said OK give me a minute and then she proceeded to go see someone else. A guy was at the front that I believe was the manager and he quickly came and cleaned it up. Our waiter came and he bought our chips and salsa. I immediately saw something sticking out of the salsa (not sure how he missed it), but I couldn’t be too sure what it was until I got a closer look. Once I looked, I discovered it was one of those twisty tie things with that thin wire that comes on a loaf of bread to close it (picture attached). I saw who I believe was the manager again, and I quickly notified him and he came and he got it. He apologized and he bought us some fresh salsa. I didn’t like the way the salsa looked anyway, even without the twisty thing sticking out of it, so I didn’t eat any. He then bought us some queso for the inconvenience.
Although already turned off by the place because of “Alicia”, the beans and the salsa mishap I decided to stick it out. The queso was actually really good. We ordered the flautas and the shrimp Baja tacos. The flautas were ok so no complaints there and the shrimp tacos had a nice flavor but the presentation sucked. We both ordered frozen margaritas that gave no kind of buzz but they were really good.
I then asked for silverware (I usually ask for plastics but just said forget it). The waiter bought them and when I took them out the paper sleeve (that read “this silverware has been sanitized for your protection” might I add) that they came in, that too was a turn off. I then asked for plastics (as I should have to begin with) because the silverware wasn’t too clean the waiter chuckled a little (not in a rude way but as if “sheesh they can’t catch a break” kinda way) and he bought us plastics. The manager and the waiter were polite, the experience...
Read moreOh I wish I knew my servers name, but it’s been about 2 weeks since I visited. It was me alone with my young son 1.5. Everyone was so friendly and welcoming to him. Waving and speaking to him. We had such an excellent experience I don’t live in Nashville but try to visit Chuy’s any time I’m in town due to being addicted to your dip. My 1.5 year old wanted some chips himself my server noticed me breaking the chips in to tiny pieces hoping he doesn’t cut his mouth. She clearly has experience with young children she brings me a soft tortilla to feed him. Next was time to order our food she went out of her way to cut up his strawberries in the back before bringing them out. All I am saying, as a single mother of a 1.5 year old this server has no idea how much she was helping me to make sure we enjoyed our dinner here. I so appreciate her kindness and the extra steps she took for me during my dinner. We eat out often and it’s very rarely that a server has this attentiveness and to recognize that the quicker we get stuff off the table we aren’t using the better (so it doesn’t end up in the floor by my 1.5 year olds fast hands). I never have the expectations of my server to cut up the food, but she had the time to do it and didn’t mind. It allowed us to eat at the same time!! This never happens I usually spend my time cutting his food trying to keep up with him eating it until he is done and then he has to play with a toy while I try to shovel my food into my mouth quickly before he loses his patience at the table. Since we are a small family our bill typically isn’t expensive so a server doesn’t usually expect to make much off us, even when I tip 20-30%. I made sure to leave this server 40% tip and I hope if she treats all of her guests this way that everyone tips her like that! The food was delicious and I can’t wait to come...
Read moreI typically have an amazing experience at this Chuys and I love Chuys in general. However, it has clearly gone downhill. We checked in online (party of 3) and the text told us the wait would be 40 minutes to an hour. However, we reached an hour and still no text saying our table was ready, so we went in and checked and the host had forgotten to put us on the list. She said it would be 15 to 20 minutes. It really wasn’t terribly busy. There were several tables but I understand the kitchen staff may have been backed up.
She said there were 5 tables ahead of us, it went past the 20 minutes and I checked in again. We were apparently next when a table opened up. When we were seated no one asked if our toddler needed a high chair. They just let me sit there holding my toddler who was clearly very grumpy and hungry. No one took our drink orders or brought chips. Two waitresses, a waiter, and someone from the kitchen all walked passed us multiple times and didn’t even acknowledge us. They were making contact with the table behind us and in front of us but we were ignored, even when we had been sitting for awhile and my toddler started screaming.
There were waitresses back in the kitchen area on their phone but they couldn’t take the time to check in on us. One of the waitresses made eye contact with me and still never asked if anyone had taken our drink orders or if we needed a high chair. We were walked past multiple times and ignored. We finally gave up and walked out. The hostess just looked at me with a sour face when we were walking out the door but never once tried to see if she could do anything to help. It was pathetic customer service, truly. I hope they don’t make other customers feel that way. I won’t...
