I definitely sat in tears today at this restaurant, but it’s not for what you think… When we first arrived at the Hotel for my Husband’s 44th Birthday Celebration, I was told our room still hadn’t been cleaned and we needed to wait to check in. We had dinner reservations and I bought a pretty dress to wear to dinner. Unfortunately after close to an hour I still wasn’t called like I was told we’d. The room was ready. It was 15 min till 10PM and reservations were long gone. I went to the desk and asked if we were ready yet and was confused why the room would not be @9:40PM at night as check outs are super earlier than that. We were hungry, starving, even and our last chance to eat something decent and good that we knew that we could rely on to be good would be Jack Daniels restaurant as we have been here before, When we arrived, I started telling the hostess Christy about our excruciating experience and missing my husband’s dinner for his birthdays, reservations and me looking messy and not being able to look pretty for my husband on his birthday. I was pretty sad, But I understand things happen. Marcus the Manager than over heard the situation and said he would get us all turned around and he didn’t disappoint. He sent Brie our waitress to take care of us and she was also so incredible. We still have no idea what he is doing, but apparently is sending something up to our room, but also took care of our full dinner tab for my husband and I I was in tears because all I wanted was them to just listen and hear me vent a little nothing rageyyy lol but just to talk about it and They just went above and beyond to make our night even better, and I just went to tears with the gratitude and kindness that everyone in that staff gave us. If you don’t go to this restaurant, then you are missing out about what is amazing about the city, which is the heart in these people and the staff I wish I knew the names to all of his staff, but I will tell you every single one of them were kind and so tentative to us. I felt like we were meant to be there all along. Thank you so much Christy, Brie and absolutely Thank you Marcus forcreating such a beautiful experience out of the foundation of ashes. You did turn it all around as you promised and your staff is second to none. Can’t wait to come back. Run to these people and I hope Jack Daniels acknowledges the unique, rare incredible staff they have here. The food the drinks the desert all incredible but the staff is so much better than all the deliciousness. Love y’all for this turn around 🩵✨🩵 Great 44th Birthday from Jack...
Read moreI would give less than 1 star for the service if possible. Margie was the rudest waiter I think I’ve ever encountered. Her attitude and demeanor would be much more appreciated at “Dicks last resort” than at the Opryland hotel. Had we not waited so long to be seated, we would have left after her first remarks. I wish we had of. My pregnant daughter needed to use the restroom, so I politely asked Margie for drink options as they were not listed on the menu. This way, my daughter could excuse herself to the restroom. Margie smarted off “well that’s what I’m here for now isn’t it” then proceeded to go over the entire menu before giving us drink options. Shortly after our initial encounter with Margie, I overheard her ask another table if “they were happy now” after receiving their check. The looks on their faces portrayed that it was not a mutual joking encounter amongst them. When our drinks came, my daughter had returned from the restroom. Margie refused to give my daughter her drink until she smiled for Margie. It was beyond awkward and again, I wish we had left. By this point, our encounter with Margie was so negative that I had to start a notepad on my phone just to keep up with all of her little comments. They were extensive in the most non appreciated manner. Several tables around us had similar looks on their faces with her comments. I wouldn’t be surprised if the last review left about the service was also in reference to Margie.
Then came the food. The loaded baked potato was great. 2/5 of us had the potato. The other 3 people’s meals were basically inedible. Margie even had a smart comment to make about how little we ate, but yet never asked how our meals were.
My daughter’s chicken was fried to the point of having to peel off the skin to try to salvage the meat inside. My husband’s collard greens were black and the beans were over cooked as well. My other daughter’s burger was overly pink and completely cold in the center. She was able to eat around the edge, but still left more than half of the burger. Her fries were delicious.
For the price and location of Jack Daniels’ I expected so much more from the service and quality of meal. Of the 6 meals we had inside the hotel during our Thanksgiving day stay, the Jack Daniels restaurant is the only meal/experience that left us wishing we had Uber eats...
Read moreOverall Rating: 5.9/10 While the ambiance of this tavern-style restaurant provides a welcoming Jack Daniels theme, service inconsistencies and high pricing affect the overall dining satisfaction.
Atmosphere: 7.6/10 The restaurant exudes a robust Jack Daniels whiskey tavern vibe, offering a spacious and roomy environment conducive to a relaxed dining experience. However, the bar's integration into the main space without distinct sectioning was noted as just adequate, slightly detracting from what could be a more specialized atmosphere.
Service: 4.9/10 Initial interactions were pleasant, with a nice host outside the restaurant and an attentive waitress. However, a service misstep occurred with the timing of the yeast rolls, which arrived simultaneously with the entrees despite being ordered significantly earlier. This timing issue suggests areas for improvement in course timing and service flow.
Food:
Yeast Rolls: 6.1/10 The rolls were described as very soft and tasty, generously buttered with a complementary honey butter that could benefit from a touch more honey to perfect its flavor.
BBQ Mac n Cheese with Brisket: 7.8/10 This dish stood out for its flavor, combining well-cooked brisket with a robust BBQ taste and a cheese sauce that melded nicely with the meat. The addition of onions provided a varied flavor profile, enhancing the dining experience with each bite, despite the pasta being slightly overcooked.
Value: 2.3/10 Priced at $32 for a small order of rolls and BBQ Mac n Cheese, the cost was perceived as excessively high. Even with good food quality and enjoyable flavors, the price point was not seen as justifiable, impacting the perceived...
