Food was mediocre but not horrible. Our review has to do solely based on the wait time of 45 minutes which we were given initially. No problem, we’re in a resort so that is completely understandable. We went to check once and the hostess didn’t have our number, which we did initially give her but she must not have written down. We continued to wait and checked back one more time at the 45 minute mark. We at this point had been waiting for over an hour when a group of 5 were sat at an 8 person table. We were a group of 6 and had been told they were waiting for a table to become available. The group of 5 came to the hostess after us. At no point did Marcus/Bailey, the managers on duty, apologize or offer any sort of comment to us. We then went and asked once we got to an hour and fifteen minutes about our table and Marcus told us it’d be 5 more minutes. No apologies or assistance to his staff. Prior to this, the table they sat us at had been dirty and the manager was talking to someone up front for several minutes knowing our wait time had been almost doubled. We were finally seated with no apologies, comment, etc and the server didn’t even know that we had an extended wait time. At the end of the meal, we asked for the managers names and she got worried but the serving staff was great! She did wonderful, the busers were speedy and kind, and they had only one bartender on a Saturday afternoon and he was busting his butt too. Management should have stepped in if they were so short staffed or at least shown face...
Read moreWow! I am a born & raised local 😊 that stayed at Gaylord for a Soundwaves staycation over a weekend. We’ve been going to Gaylord for Christmas activities since 2013. I was raised going to Cascades for the harp & light show from birth 😛 So, this trip we were excited to try out any culinary opportunities we came across. We saw this restaurant from the skywalk path and it looked like a great atmosphere. We were immediately greeted and seated by 3 lovely young ladies that were very nice to our munchkins in tow. Riki was our server. He was so lighthearted and fun as Southerners should be. ☺️ The food was amazing. We were expecting VERY stereotypical mexican Spanish fare but ended up very surprised! The flavors were so great. I’m not sure what all the other complaints are about. The food was such a great fusion of new and old Mexico. It’s not easy serving a family of four. Kids are loud and messy ☺️ We also loved the “indoor outdoor” patio seating on a cold winters day. It definitely takes the winter blues away. We’ve decided to make this a great date night place for us. We felt bored with the same old Nashville foods and not adventurous enough maybe for all the new restaurants coming and going. This restaurant hit the spot. The parking is ridiculous at Gaylord, $32 a day even for guests. Park at Opry Mills and do a nice walk over. Burn some calories off in the process and save you money 🙂 Kudos to Riki & the staff here for a great relaxing...
Read moreWe were a group of 9 that had to wait about 30 minutes to be seated at an empty restaurant at 3:44 pm. We eventually sat and ordered queso(2 orders), guacamole, and salsa to share as a table. There was long loosely curled brown hair in one of the orders of queso and the salsa! We informed management of the hair, they took the orders and brought out new orders. The manager was apologetic at first. One member of the group was eating her quesadilla and pulled a long strand of brown loosely curled hair out of her mouth. Management was informed again. This time the manager Bruno came out and stated “it’s very hard to believe that hair was in three items”. He was shown the hair she pulled out her mouth and a picture of the salsa that had hair in it. He stated again, “it’s very hard to believe that hair was in the food items.” We were all taken aback. One member of the group works for state government and stated it’s fine I work for the state and will have a food and service team here within the coming weeks. Then Mr. Bruno asked which items can be comped. We entered the restaurant ready to enjoy food and drinks; decompress after a long day. But was met with 3 strands of long loosely curled brown hair and being accused of a disgusting act. We were a group of 9 African American women whose hair choices were braids, locs and silk presses. Where did the brown 30 inch pieces of...
