I typically love Sedona Taphouse in Germantown; my daily walks often lead to a stop here for their amazing pasta and great service. Unfortunately, today’s experience left me disappointed, and I don’t think I’ll be coming back.
This evening, I decided to stop by for a brownie sundae to satisfy my craving for a warm dessert before heading out. I’ve ordered this dessert before and it’s always been delicious. However, this time was completely different. After waiting longer than usual because their system was down, I finally received my order. But when I returned to my other spot and opened it, I was shocked to find it ice cold, as if it had come straight from the freezer. Disappointed, I called Sedona and explained the situation, and they invited me to return for a replacement. So, I walked back there.
Upon returning, the staff seemed indifferent. When I explained the situation to the manager, I was surprised by her response. Instead of addressing the mistake or showing any concern, she tried to suggest the dessert had simply cooled down because I waited too long—which was untrue. I had only walked a few minutes. Her dismissive and somewhat arrogant attitude left me feeling unheard and undervalued as a customer.
Having frequented this location with positive experiences in the past, I was surprised by how I was treated this time. I would expect more understanding and respect for the time and effort customers spend to address an issue, especially one that could have been easily solved with a sincere apology and willingness to make things right. Sadly, I’ll be choosing other spots in the area going forward. I hope the team here recognizes the importance of attentive customer service and learns to treat customers with respect rather than...
Read moreThe restaurant was nice. The valet employee was EXCELLENT. He was courteous, kind, and very professional. He helped me into my vehicle and thanked us for coming. He made this whole visit very pleasant. There was two of us.
Food: We ordered Chicken wing starters, pasta with andouille sausage and shrimp, and Southwest Steak tacos with a side of fries. The wings were tasty but the skin was too soft. We were expecting it to bit a bit crisper. The pasta was overcooked and the flavor was very light. The spiciness was welcoming, we just wished there was more flavor.
There were two steak tacos with very little meat. The drink was an Arnold Palmer, but it tasted like it was powdered. My guest had water. We ordered no alcohol and our bill was a little over $55. Price no so bad, but did not match the portions or expected quality of the food.
Service: Our waitress was nice enough, but she seemed to be in a hurry the entire time we were there.
She stopped asked our drink order, then before we could tell her we were ready to order, she was gone. When she came back we needed her to get the drink order correct, and give her our order, but she dropped the drinks and was gone.
It was like this the entire visit. (It was weird because the restaurant was half full/empty.)
Our hostess sat us to our table, walked away, stopped, then said, "Oh your waitress will be with you." Then immediately kept walking. (we felt like an afterthought, but we let it go) I can say we were grateful she returned the item we left behind. It was very kind of her.
The stars are for the valet and the returned item. Not the food...
Read moreWe came with a big party(13) so I completely understand there can be issues when there’s a large party. However, we had a reservation for 8:30, we were there on time. We arrived at 8:20. We took pictures while waiting to be seated. We probably didn’t get seated until 9:10. I don’t have an exact time stamp for that. We did get our appetizers and entrees in decent time after being seated(9:50 is when we got our entrees). The food was pretty decent but nothing to rave about. Anyway, we didn’t leave the restaurant until 11 pm. We didn’t sit and talk after we ate, we were tired after a long day(bachelorette activities). We really could have left at 10:30. (Added pictures have timestamps at the top)
Our waiter, Austin, said he was new so he had a hard time splitting the checks, completely understand, we gave him grace. Our frustration is with the manager who first, didn’t manage the schedule properly - if we had known it would take so long to be seated even though we had a reservation, we would’ve left! Secondly, why would you let a new waiter handle such a big party and then not help when you see that he’s obviously struggling. I think someone finally tried to help at the very last minute which could’ve been the manager but it was wayyy too late. They were too busy starting to clean up instead of helping him. We felt so sorry for him because I think if we all knew that he was new, we would’ve made it easier for him by not splitting the checks. He was a great waiter and handled the situation the...
