This location only operates a drive thru, yet it still manages to absolutely fail at doing it well. The term “fast” food cannot be found here, if you’re looking for a late night snack as I was after a long shift. I’m not sure who runs the third shift/late night, but whoever they are is absolutely unprepared to do so. I figured I’d go ahead and bite the bullet and wait in a long line, but I was pleasantly surprised that it moved somewhat easily. But when I got closer to the actual menu to order, it seemed like the employees either forgot there was a car there or didn’t care because there wasn’t a single greeting to warn me of an extended wait time or anything of the sort. Instead I was greeted with silence. After about 5-7 minutes I asked a quick, “Hello?” but got nothing in response. I tried again, and only after about a minute did someone pipe in with “Someone will be with you shortly.” But no one did. There was no mention of or apology for the significant wait. I eventually just left because, look, it’s fast food, right? It’s not worth it. I regret sitting in that drive thru line for as long as I did, because I’ll never get that time or gas back. Truly a monumental error on my part. This location is in no way ready to even consider opening up a full dining room, considering they already suck at manning the drive-thru. Whataburger? More like What-A-Wait-Time! This visit did not occur during what I would call a “peak” time, as I got in line at about 10:30 p.m., but I stuck around for more than half an hour, which is an absurd amount of time to wait in line for fast food. Again, I regret waiting that long, but I was interested to check out a banana pudding shake and a burger since I’ve never had Whataburger before.

I ordered my meal online to help out the staff like always, but when I get there I sit at the drive thru for a long time. People are driving off. I’m in the left lane waiting to have my order taken and the guy is only taking orders from the right lane. Why?! So I call to let them know that they’re skipping the left lane entirely and dude gives me a sob story about it being a bad night. I’m like, ok? But I’m next. Shouldn’t you be taking my order instead of skippinh the left lane? It wouldn’t be that big of a deal if it didn’t take 20 minutes plus per car for the food to get prepared. Do better. Now I have to wait and pray that whataburger actually refunds my money because the app wouldn’t let me cancel. I reported the store via the main number so MAYBE somethjng gets done. Dude didn’t even apologize. Really? Own up to the mistake and don’t act like I’m a problem when I was trying not to make it one. I was just letting the guy know and he jumped down my throat. Read moreWe was the only customers in the lobby took forever to get someone to take our order waited on our food for over 20 minutes food was cold and old after spending $27 and waiting over 20 minutes you would think your food would be fresh and warm. Then an elderly couple came in about 5 minutes after we got there and they had to wait at least 30 minutes for them to even get someone to take their order I can only imagine how long it took them to get there order because we was leaving and I had to actually walk behind the counter and ask an employee if there was anybody at the front counter because the lady that took our order was on break sitting down eating. In the lobby. First time eating there and will most likely be the last! For a customer service for food only thing good about the visit was the lobby was clean besides the ice and Lobby was empty and it took at least 7 to 8 minutes to get someone to fill our ice cups for our drinks behind the counter highly recommend not going to RiverGate location not sure if anything would have been better at another location but most definitely will not be trying to find out...
