This meal was just sad all around.
A little background...I had had a few disappointing visits in the past year and after commenting, the company tried to make it right by sending me a few coupons for free burgers (hooray for outstanding customer service!) and since I wasn't close to home, thought I'd try a different location than I usually go to. Who knows? Maybe they're much better and I can become a regular.
Yeah...nope.
To start, the line was 4 or 5 cars long and moving VERY slow. I couldn't order ahead AND use the coupon I'd been given, ugh, so when I finally got my turn at the speaker, I placed my order (pretty simple, imo - burger with only mayo & ketchup, fries done crispy & a Coke) and gave them a heads up that I'd be using one of their coupons, aka "Char Tickets" to pay along with cash.
Then I waited. ๐ And waited. ๐ง And... you get the picture. ๐ Once I arrived at the window I had my mask on, my cash in hand and the coupon pulled up on my phone, ready to go. The young man serving me looked a bit lost but told me the total due. I reminded him about the coupon and showed it to him on my phone. He ran to get someone else, to help, I guessed.
The woman that arrived looked at me and my phone display, didn't say 1 word, ๐ visibly sighed ๐จ and punched buttons on the register, scanned my phone and went back to whatever she was doing. ๐ค The guy then gave me my new total, which I paid quickly ๐ธ, got my drink and bag of food and was on my way.
I was STARVING. And looking forward to a yummy dinner. ๐คค While driving home, I tore into the bag, animal style, grasping for a few fries to satisfy my craving. But what's this? Their not even hot and as far from crispy as you could get. Maybe those ones on top had hitched a ride with my crispy fries, I thought. Maybe if I dig a little deeper I'll find the crunchy, hot and fresh golden treasures I know and love. Not hardly. If it's even possible, they were less cooked. Cold, even. And just floppy, sad looking pieces of potato. (See photo)
Ok, fine, I said. At least I still have my tasty burger to enjoy! One handed, I deftly unwrapped the paper from one side and shoved that thing into my mouth, full of anticipation and hunger. Pretty much inhaled the first bite. Went for another, taking a bit more time to actually taste (and enjoy) the flavor when, wth is this attrocity?!? I had to spit it out! ๐คข I can't tell you what exactly was on my sandwich but after getting home I'm pretty sure I saw lettuce, pickle and some yucky sauce maybe? Idk. I don't wanna know. (See photo) I can guarantee one thing. It wasn't good ol' mayo and ketchup!
I just want one good experience like I had been accustomed to back when I first discovered The Habit. Not sure what happened, but I now know my less than satisfying experiences weren't just due to one location falling short, sadly. There are other stores in town I haven't tried yet but nowhere near me. Maybe I'll happen to work nearby one of the others soon. And if I'm feeling REALLY brave (and not too hungry) I'll give them a chance. But honestly, even with the coupons I still have, I'm not looking forward to seeing what happens next time. This totally bums me out! ๐โโ๏ธ
They were my fav fast food burger that was also affordable ever since I tried them in Cali in 2014. Please figure out what needs to happen to go back to being my reliable, enjoyable, friendly and recommendable burger...
ย ย ย Read moreCompletely unprofessional behavior from their drive thru cashiers. They are so badly trained that they will actually CANCEL a part of your order WITHOUT informing you and STILL MAKE YOU PAY FULL PRICE FOR YOUR MEAL. I know, crazy and unimaginable but it will happen; they claim that theyโre having some โpc issuesโ and CONFIRM YOUR ORDER WITH YOU. After double checking that you want ALL the items you are ordering (Because why would there be any other reason for you to be there, at a food establishment, making the order to begin with?) We only noticed after checking our bags right after exiting their drive thru that an item was missing. Went inside to inform them of the missing item from our order when they told us: โWe thought you wanted said item cancelled.โ After informing them about how we definitely did not want the item cancelled they then informed us that โWELL THE CAR IN FRINT OF YOU TOLD US YOU WANTED THE ITEM CANCELLED.โ
What?!
First of all; In what kind of food service is it the norm that you can LITERALLY CANCEL ANOTHER PERSONโS order?
Second of all; WHY would a cashier CONFIRM the order WITH YOU, knowing you want the full order and STILL THINK YOU WANT AN ITEM CANCELLED?
Thirdly; In what world does a cashier NOT have the proper common human decency to let YOU know โHey, the car in front of you request this item be cancelled, did you actually want that to be cancelled?โ
Even with just CHECKING and CONFIRMING your order TWICE, mind you, it should be COMMON SENSE at that point that THE CURRENT CAR or CUSTOMER (whichever it can be seen as) indeed DID NOT intend to cancel and item. They CLEARLY wanted the item and paid FULL PRICE for the meal. Bygones would be bygones had we not paid FULL PRICE as at that point, your time or money is not wasted.
If you ever come to this location make sure you CHECK the food they hand to you AT THAT WINDOW, ensure that they wonโt make up some weird excuse like โPc IsSuEsโ or โA cAr In FrOnT oF yOu CaNcElLeD aN iTeM...
ย ย ย Read moreI used to love Habit burger but lately not so much! I had noticed that the food was warm not hot the last time I was there. Also the bun was extra hard and the fries seemed like they had been sitting under the light too long. I was disappointed but continued to be a customer. However on yesterday I went in and my bill was $7.09, I only had $7.00 so I asked if I could get my food with the $7.00. The cashier asked the supervisor who just put her head down and pretended to write something on some papers, never giving an answer so I waited for an answer but got nothing. So I just told her to take the fries off. But then I thought about how much money I have spent there and even always recommend them to people visiting my home, because I live in the complex right next to their parking lot. So I asked for my money back and went to In and Out Burgers which is less expensive, delicious and GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE !!! The supervisor at Habit Burger was unprofessional I should have been acknowledged and told no, not just ignored. I felt offended its Christmas time and a loyal customer cant even get a pass $.09. She needs to understand that the owners would have preferred to keep a loyal customer rather than lose one for pennies.. But what does she care as long as she gets a paycheck. Smh. I will spend my money elsewhere and not recommend...
