I'll start by stating the obvious: the peak years of mall popularity are over, not just here, but everywhere. Having gotten that out of the way...this mall is pretty clean and the businesses there that I have frequented , including Bath and Body Works and three of the restaurants, have offered up very good experiences.
We have to admit that our buying habits have changed so much that the old business models will not succeed. I do think that something like a Dave and Busters would be great for the mall and the area in general. I would also like to see another book store, perhaps with a music area for the few remaining folks that still buy albums and CDs. I think an old school type of "sweet shop" featuring a wide variety of ice cream and other treats with seating available might succeed.
I don't know if this mall will survive (and hopefully thrive) long term but I do know that it will not make it if we (the buying public) just wring our hands and wish for the 80s. Go to the mall. Get some shower gel at Bath and Body. Grab some wings or orange chicken and rice. Visit Belk for your clothing needs, if you shop the sales, the prices are really reasonable and the quality is good. One more thing: for us older folks that need to get those steps in to keep the blood pumping, it's a really good place to avoid the weather challenges and take a walk.
Let's keep our mall alive. I hope to...

The place was essentially empty and I had to ask for the attention "Excuse me". The individual was shuffling around with some crusts. The same crusts I adore. But ignored us as customers as we waited...and waited. This was after someone working in the back came out and pivoted back into the kitchen. We were trying to make our selections.
I'm over it though I'm mentioning it. No matter the decade, people are people. Some...

Heard the song on MTV and picked up the tape...kind of a STP MMbosstones sound..no trumpets. The mall has TJ Max and Belk and shoe dept..those are the big hitters...they also have jimmy jazz..not a fan...hibbets..not a fan...Maurices women's clothing...not a woman! And bath and body works and gnc and a nail salon cell phone store and jewelry stores..worth a trip to visit...not much to see..Belks always has great sales. Not much...
