Smithfield's Chicken 'N Bar-B-Q — Restaurant in New Bern

I dined in yesterday at this location and ordered a kids meal. I received a RAW chicken leg, I informed the girl who was bringing food out and she took my plate back to the kitchen and proceeded to bring my same plate back out. She said they will bring you another chicken leg and walked away. That did not sit well with me that my food was taken into the kitchen where someone could have touched it because I was complaining about my chicken. I waited 10 minutes and still never received my new piece so I called the number on the receipt while I was still sitting at the table. Of course I never received a call back. My partner finished up his meal and went back to the counter to refill the ice in our drinks and spoke with the "manager" about my chicken leg and how I never received it. She came to the table I guess to see the piece of meat and she said "yep, that's raw". Never offered an apology at all but I did receive a chicken leg in a to go box. This was always my to go place in New Bern but the lack of urgency or caring to take care of the customer was realign lacking. I was disappointed in this restaurant and still need that phone call. Ive removed my positive review it no longer applies to the new bern location,3pm on Dec 21st of 24 my inlaws stopped to pick up our order, since they are on the way, we make every year at the same time for our xmas get together,my inlaws are in their mid 80's,the manager at that time threw 4 large bags and 3 gallon teas on the counter that we paid $200 for,they being not capable of carrying stuff that heavy due to obvious walking conditions,managers response was have a nice day and walked off,so they made 5 trips back and forth to get it to the car parked at the door and not once was helped or asked if they needed help by any of the 6 employees standing there watching them,FURIOUS doesnt start to express how all the family took it!my wife immediately called the store which noone answered,left a message stating what happened and it stated she would be contacted within 24hrs which never happened,so next step is picket signs until somebody steps up to...

Stopped here and ate while traveling because they had a well needed Tesla supercharger. The place was outstanding. We waked in and 3 people offered a genuine hello -not the tired, forced hello often heard. The employees were smiling and happy. The food was spectacular! It came out of the kitchen fast, hot, fresh and very tasty. In fact, that meal was the best meal we had our entire vacation- who knew a chicken/BbQ joint would surpass some of those self declared fancy and best restaurants on the coast. They can all kick rocks- Smithfield’s beat them. The four of us ordered BBQ plate, fried chicken and chicken tenders and fries. NC folks don’t do bbq sauce like us Tennesseans so that was a trip.
