The absolute best experience we have ever had when planning a party. We were hosting a number of people who would be dropping in a different times during the hours of the party. Paula took the time to help us chose foods that would have appeal to all palates. She also suggested items that made sure that we were including needs for all dietary types. We were floored how gorgeous the presentation was. The fruit and cheese tray was a bountiful combination of fruit, a vibrant floral presentation, a spectrum of cheeses of all varieties, and sweet honey that made our guests believe that had truly experienced nectar of the gods. The stuffed breads were fully packed with delicious goodness. Beef tenderloin was succulent and cooked to perfection. Paula’s lasagna was a culinary piece of artwork: the added creamy bechamel sauce enhanced the rich flavor of the beef bolognese sauce nestled between the fresh lasagna noodles. We chose a rigatoni for the vodka sauce and it proved to be a formidable vehicle to cling onto the vodka sauce. Each pasta noodle carried with it the subtle sweetness that occurs when you marry the tomatoes, cream and vodka. For those who wanted a lighter entree, we chose lemon chicken. Each serving included a generous perfectly pounded breast that was lightly coated with a sweet butter sauce and topped with a hint of fresh lemon that bursted with flavor on your taste buds. The summer-veggies were grilled to perfection. We can’t say enough about how happy we were to hire Cafe George by Paula. We did not have to worry about the food presentation or there being enough variety. It made it easier to just participate with our guests and enjoy the event. We are already looking forward to our next party so we can book Paula again!

I catered an event this summer with Cafe George. This was for 25 people seeing each other for the first time since the start of the pandemic. Paula made this event totally stress free. She came up with amazing suggestions to build on my vision. We had New England Clam Chowder that EVERYONE wanted to take home or be able to buy at her store. We had lobster rolls, a mediterranean platter, Chicken and Steak Kabobs, freshly made salsa's guacamole and chips as well as everything I could need to serve and set up. We also had a dessert platter filled with freshly baked brownies , cookies and tarts. Each dish was presented beautifully and delicious. Cafe George By Paula made my event so special and effortless.

A fabulous little café tucked into the ground floor of an office building. It may take you a few minutes to locate, but when you do you'll be glad you did. They make a great breakfast and have an extensive lunch menu. The place is filled with local workers, which is a good sign. If you're staying across the street at the Blake Hotel or at the New Haven Hotel, Cafe George offer a much better and more reasonably priced alternative for breakfast.

I ordered lunch for 4 of us in the office I said I have 4 separate sandwiches. I ordered with the owner Paula over the phone, I know her voice from many years of going there. When we got there we said its under my name but paying all separate. The girl at the counter rudely said no. You didnt specify you were paying separate when you ordered and I cant do it now. I said I did specify and Paula jumped all over me saying you absolutely did not while pointing her finger at me and said I cant change it now once it's in the system. So let me get this straight, you called me a liar as you stand there telling me your computer is incapable of voiding how you did it to do it correctly, how I ordered it?!? I'm thinking that makes you the liar. I will never step foot in there again. Not only were you rude but your food was mediocre at best. I suggest a change in attitude towards your customers or you will tank. I, for one, will be adding this review to...

Very rude staff. I was approached by the owner who flatly told me to leave because part of my meal was not purchased from them. The place was not busy and there were plenty of tables. "You need to get that out of here! This is cafe, not a cafeteria.” Well excuse me ma’am, but it sure as hell looks like a cafeteria. This ‘cafe’ is inside an office building serving mostly workers. People bring some of their lunch to work. And if someone works there, there is a highly hood of them returning to your nothing special, hole in a wall ‘cafe.’ Unless, of course, you approach them like that. A simple, “Excuse me, I noticed…It is our policy to ... I apologize…” would have accomplished the same thing. FYI, Miss Paula: I will be working in the building for a while and would have been a repeat potential customer, but...
