High George by Siena — Restaurant in New Haven

I came to eat at this restaurant with a large party. No waitress for 30 minutes to take drinks and appetizers order. Then We ordered drinks waited another 15 minutes. Waitress then told us our appetizers was not put in and said she would. 10 minutes later David comes to tell us that he would not put any orders in until all parties were ready to order. That in order to give us the best service we had to wait. I have never been to a restaurant where they would not feed someone when they was hungry. David was nasty and very unprofessional! Will never come back to this restaurant again! Guess what happened everyone started to order entrees and not appetizers! No bread while everybody else tables had bread! Now it is an hour later, a couple of people have had nothing to eat. Burgers were not done. Then when one burger came back it came as a half a burger. My steak was cold! This place is horrible! I’m extremely disappointed/disgusted with this place. I had made reservations for my birthday a month in advance. They required that I give them my credit card information just incase I did not cancel 24 hours in advance. Fast forward they day before my birthday I called about 6 times to confirm my reservation no one answered. The day of my birthday I called about 4 times no answer. I decided to check their website and long & behold.. there’s a statement stating the restaurant will be closed until further notice. They could have called or emailed me to let me know!! I made reservations 1 month in advance!! Now imagine if I would have driving an hour away on my birthday just to realize they were closed. Unacceptable!!!! I expect the same amount of respect that they expect from their costumer....

Pretty rooftop restaurant ideal for a day with lovely weather even if only to get drinks with a friend. While the spatial layout leaves much to be desired as you're practically sitting in the laps of strangers overhearing the intimate details of their conversations, it is visually pleasant. The menu is pretty limited on the rooftop. The restaurant inside is more extensive, however. I'd highly recommend the cauliflower dish as it was absolutely delicious, and the bread was super soft and fluffy, served with a variety of dips, making it shareable.
