We used Siena for our wedding after party with a majority of our guests staying at the Blake Hotel. The reservation process to reserve the restaurant space was managed with Naitza for Siena and quite easy in terms of out lining the deposit and contract terms. However once the event started all follow up was a nightmare I wouldn’t wish on anyone.
We reserved the space from 11pm-1am over Labor Day Weekend and had an agreed to minimum. Over the course of the night, I as the bride, asked the bartenders and staff on site what was the status of the minimum, and I was assured everything was okay. My father also asked the staff over the course of the night if there was any remaining balance and if the minimum needed to be closed out as he would like to wrap up any and all costs, once again we were assured by the staff our party was all set as our wedding night festivities came to a close. We checked out of the hotel the following day as did our guests and heard nothing from the Siena staff again. 10 days after our event, we had a significant undocumented charge to our credit card while we were out of the country on our honeymoon, with the transaction run by Siena. Upon realizing this charge had occurred several days after it posted, we immediately reached out to Naitza who assured us she would look into it.
After two follow up emails, we received feedback almost a week after our initial inquiry (2.5 weeks after the wedding party) with documentation of the drinks charged that night and the remaining balances owed with a final receipt. This was the first time we were provided with any support at all, weeks after Siena had unilaterally charged a significant amount to our card without notifying us. It was an unconscionable business practice that they originally charged our card without any proactive documentation and no follow up receipt. To add insult to injury, we had to follow up several times for reconciliation and feedback. It left a horrid taste and experience when coupled with the fact we asked multiple times the night of for confirmation of the minimum requirements and received assurances our party was all set in terms of our obligations. After back and forth with Naitza, we were told there was nothing Sienna could do because the amount was technically owed under the contract, notwithstanding their troubling billing practices, failure to provide timely documentation, and the apparent inability of the Sienna staff to convey correct information the night of our event. In addition, and even more puzzling, we were told that they cannot, and would not, take responsibility for whatever the onsite staff told us at the time. Naitza and the management team’s final recommendation was to contest the charge with our bank, which we felt was a ludicrous cop out.
For future inquiries to use this space, all the restaurant awards do not offset the negligent business practices that negatively impact the customer along with the failure to do right by clients as we were the victims of multiple failures in communication. Although Sienna did apologize for their poor billing practices, and offered a gift card for future use, it was a frustrating and uncomfortable experience to manage while on our honeymoon. Customers be warned when considering a...
Read moreMy husband and I were excited about checking Hamilton Park, the new restaurant run by the Michelin starred chef Mike Lambert. We have been to quite a few michelin restaurants. I guess we were too quick to have an expectation. BTW this restaurant is NOT Michelin starred. The evening started off fine. We waited a few minutes for our reserved table. The ambience was nice and modern. The kitchen was busy, but clean. I could see hard working kitchen staff. But thing went down hill very quickly. The waiter who seemed to be overwhelmed, came to receive the food order. He did not seem to know the ingredients of the entrees at all. He spent as little time possible with us and also skipped to provide what it seems to be complimentary bread. The next table even specifically asked for the bread after they were done with the entrees. We ordered Duck and Pawn which turned out to be nothing out of the ordinary. The waiter did not even care to come to the table to explain about the entree (did not even mention enjoy the food). It is over priced. I would rather pay the same amount for better service and better food somewhere else. I hope that I am the only one who had a disappointing experience at Hamilton Park. My advice to future customers is " Don't expect Michelin Starred dining experience, you will be ok" Just another ok restaurant...
Read moreOne of the worst dining experiences that I’ve ever had. I came here for my Brother’s birthday and I regret bringing him here for his special day. The mistakes began with the incorrect sparkling water being brought out when we requested just tap water. Bread was not brought to our table and this went unnoticed until the waitress asked us if “we wanted any more bread”. We didn’t receive any in the first place! Our entrees were not delivered at the same time which can be overlooked until we asked “where the final dish was” (this was the Birthday Boy’s entree). This was eventually brought out 10 min later and severely overcooked and dry. Late and overcooked? We had brought our own birthday cake and asked them to bring it out for us. They spent well over 20 min bringing out our own cake with candles! Then they only gave us plates and I needed to go up and request silverware myself. Finally when this disaster of a dinner was done, the wait staff offered us limoncello shots and then never brought them out! To add insult to injury, it seemed like all the other tables around us were being properly attended to.
If you are planning on spending these prices for food, I’d strongly recommend going elsewhere. Food was subpar at best (I had their pasta dish which had an old oil aftertaste) and service...
