Top Notch, Friendly Attentive Proprietor, Felt Like Family. Stopped by on a quiet Sunday afternoon after reading good reviews and craving something fresh and easy. With a co-worker, we were celebrating our last business trip together and could not have asked for a better experience. We ended up being the only customers at the time (Saints home game!), which worried us a bit -- we didn't want to seem like a nuisance or get ignored. Our concerns were immediately dispatched as both the proprietor and her brother treated us like family. The cafe is relatively new, and they genuinely cared about our whole experience. We got treated like old friends the whole time. The owner embodies the old saying: "do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life." The food? We got a sampling of breakfast and lunch - all solid, thoughtful local fare - and were blown away. The shrimp appetizer "The Flying Dutchman" was a dish I wanted to share and hoard all to myself at the same time. Red Beans and Rice were family secret recipe quality. I'll be back for the non-vegetarian version, but mine was a high-five in a bowl! Fast refills on fantastic coffee, each dish thoughtfully plated, and a pleasant patio brunch feeling made for an experience I'll seek out for each visit. A place/experience like Cafe Porche is the reason people seek out travel adventures in the first place.

Flew in to NOLA for the first time ever with my friend. Searched for best breakfast near the AirBnB we will be staying at, and Cafe Porche & Snowbar came up first, with the highlighted reviews mentioning the best French toast ever. This place will not disappoint! The service is exceptional and you feel truly welcomed and accommodated. We both ordered The Good Morning Sweetness breakfast platter. Thick, fluffy sweet French toast topped with powdered sugar, fresh juicy strawberries, a sweet and lovely banana sliced, and blueberries. While my friend went for her side of bacon, I just had to go for the smoked sausage. The coffee came out piping hot as well. Everything was sensational and delicious. But it was the service from Mark, while my friend was in the restroom, our server brought out extra napkins to cover the food, and a lid for the coffee to keep it warm. Along with good conversation, Mark told us of the trolly down the street and points of interests. For our first time in New Orleans, and our first official restaurant experience, the bar has been set very high. If you are in the area, I highly suggest that you stop by and enjoy one of the best breakfast spots in the country.

Visited Cafe Porche on a Saturday morning. There is plenty of free street parking and it is close to the Muses apartments. One enters through a gate and the snowball stand is in the front of the property and the entry to the cafe is in the back. There was not a lot of seating but it was just the two of us. We ordered the Lakeview morning and the Carol B fried grits with shrimp. It was rollin'! The cream sauce was so good. Our server was not so attentive but I think that she was just a substitute for the actual server that was helping out in the snowball area. The new server was more of a people person. An older lady came to our table and thanked us for our patience even though the wait was not that long. If you know me, you know I had to order a wedding cake snowball to-go! They put condensed milk on top. The ice was crunchy but the juice was good. Overall, I would return.

Made a reservation with a $30 no show fee, and they seated us without checking our names (so we would've just been charged $30 even though we were there?). Seated us at a weird table with one person in the corner (fine), and the other facing the wall (weird) instead of across from each other, despite there being plenty of room to do so with some quick table shifts. Took ten minutes to bring water, was ready to order food at that point, but server said she'd take our drink order first. I ordered unsweet ice tea, 15 minutes later was given something that looked like a horchata, ten minutes after that was given a sweet tea, finally got black tea after my husband went up to counter 'cause no one was coming to our table within reasonable time frames. Ordered basic breakfast and told her I was vegetarian, so no meat, but eggs are okay, and then she said "no eggs, right?" (...) husband ordered oatmeal, was uncooked on top with water pooling underneath. They took it back and microwaved it, was inedible, so he ate my side of fruit for breakfast. I ordered my eggs over medium, they arrived so over easy that the whites were still liquid-y in places. My grits were cold and bland, but the biscuit was good (although it was forgotten and I had to ask for it). Our food took 45 minutes, and by that time we were so hungry we just ate what we could, but we didn't have any napkins or utensils until after our food was there and we had to ask for it. Ravenous, we just had to sit there waiting. The guy who was pitching in couldn't have been nicer, and he explained they were slammed. When you're slammed, it's bad form to continue seating people and deliver bad food and service, especially when you require reservations with a cancelation fee! This place had great reviews and I was so disappointed. Nothing was taken off our check, which is crazy. We even still tipped a little, which was crazier. Honestly, with that service, we should've...

We decided to come from breakfast because we've read soo many good reviews. We were greeted promptly when we sat down, the server taking our order was very attentive with eye contact, made sure she understood exactly what we wanted. We looked over the menu and we both got the "Good Morning Darling", I with a side of grits, sausage and a biscuit, she with toast, turkey sausage, and cheese grits. We also got the French Toast and she got a latte and I got a cappuccino.

The food was definitely delicious, home cooked taste through and through. The coffee was also on point, better Cappuccino than most coffee houses because this Cappuccino didn't taste like it was a bitter brew. In conversation we mentioned it was our daughter's birthday and she actually said oh ok I'll get her a baby'ccino, it was frothy chocolate milk, our toddler loved it. She also even sang happy birthday to her which was surprising. At some point I picked up she wasn't the average server after she thanked me for allowing them to cook us breakfast.. I asked, "Are you the owner?" She replied, "Yes I am." I said I could tell by your demeanor you're not the average server, it was different in a good way.

The French Toast was French Bread with fruit on top, and syrup on the side, it was scrumptious. While after tip this is certainly a breakfast on the pricey side, far beyond a Waffle House price range. If you genuinely want a decent breakfast without the drama or insanity a Waffle House can have, or maybe people who literally dont care like a McDonald's.. This isn't that place! You'll love this place if you love good food and good service and dont mind paying a little bit more.

It was worth it for us, we walked several blocks from our hotel to eat here. Would recommend, will definitely come...
