My family and I decided to eat here last night for a bit of a late night dinner. We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott, and Hard Rock is a short walk down the street. We've eaten at Hard Rock Cafes before, including this location, and always have a good experience. Last night was not a good experience. The food was ok, but the service was absolutely awful. Our waitress took forever to greet us and when she finally did, she told us the drink menu was on the table and she'd come back. She passed our table 3 times and never came back to take our drink order. When she finally did come back, she was very sporadic and it felt like she was rushing us. Mind you, the restaurant was not busy at all and there were other servers taking care of the other tables. She only had our table and one other table. Once our drink order was taken, she took forever to come back with the drinks. We had to ask for straws. Not once did she ask if we wanted refills nor did she bring refills for the remainder of the night. Someone else brought the food out and when she came by the table, she said "Oh great, they brought you your food" and then quickly left the table. She never asked us how the food was or if we needed anything. She also never brought us the napkins we asked for. When it was time to settle the checks, without asking us, she brought one check. My husband and I were dining with my adult sisters. We politely asked if it were possible to split the check, and this is when the night really went sour. She caught the worst attitude with us over having to split the check and then very rudely asked each of us what we ordered so she could split it. The entire time she was shaking her head and making a face like we were creating the biggest burden for her. We are from Lafayette. We come to New Orleans quite frequently, and we eat out pretty often. This was one of the worst experiences at a restaurant we've had in a long time. Most of us have been servers before as well, so we like to give people grace and believe in tipping well when we dined out. I bet rarely complain or leave a review, but there was absolutely no excuse for the service we received. There are too many restaurants in New Orleans. I do not see us returning to the...

I don't write bad reviews but this one is to save everyone the hassle of even going here! This is based on our waitress. She had braids in her hair, yellow and blue finger nails and a upper lip piercing.

We walked in, were not greeted, no smiles- NOTHING.

We ordered soda- soda machine broken. Got our water and sweet tea and my water glass was covered in someone else's lipstick. I asked for a new glass and she rolled her eyes at me and I got no apology for given a clearly unwashed glass.

Didnt write our orders down- asked us two more times what we ordered.

My husband's food came out way before mine, we hardly got to eat together.

My husband ordered BBQ sauce with his meal, when I reminded her, she rolled her eyes at me again but this time accompanied the eye rolls with the world's dirtiest look.

This waitress actually chased down a customer, who was already sitting and been served demanding VERY LOUDLY "can I help you" like he wasn't allowed to get up from his chair

She ran outside, threw the doors open and was screaming at someone outside- profanities and all.

hair under my burger bun, which was seriously the least of any of the issues. I just ate the burger and the top bun. Fries were cold and hard. We did not waste our time talking to anyone as after all we had witnessed, we knew it wasn't going to be solved.

Never got our bill- we sat there for a long time before I went up to the bar to pay. Bartender was great by the way! This has no reflection on her!

We couldn't have ran out of there fast enough- no, it was not busy. There were three booths that were taken, two sets of couples at the bar and two tables.

People were walking out due to no service. DO...

We had a really bad experience unfortunately. The service was borderline hostile and very slow.

The place was maybe about a quarter full when we arrived and there was no line. There were three servers at the front when we arrived, but none of them greeted us, they just stood talking to each other. Eventually a lady from the shop greeted us and politely asked us to wait a minute before our server was ready. She then got told off by one of the servers for talking to us.

We just wanted to have a few drinks, but there weren’t two seats together at the bar, so we asked for a table nearby which the person who seated us said was no problem. We waited there a while and eventually our server arrived and said we couldn’t sit there if we weren’t eating food and we needed to move to the bar (some space had opened up since we sat down). But we were comfy and wanted to stay where we were. Nearly every table around us was empty, so it didn’t feel like we were causing a problem.

While we were waiting for drinks, two servers stood right next to our table and had an argument with each other.

When we got our drinks they were good, but by that point we were wishing that we hadn’t come in. After we finished our drinks we spent a long time trying to get the attention of our server to pay.

I wished I had said something while we were there, but I felt like the atmosphere was already bad enough without...

I don't know if this was just an off day for this location or if this experience is the norm. The restaurant was not busy at all when we arrived, yet it still took about 15 minutes to be greeted by our server. Our server had a trainee and they were both friendly but would disappear and not turn back up for a long time. I ordered a mojito to drink, thinking it would be refreshing. Instead, the drink tasted like a very sour lemonade. One of my friends also ordered the mojito. We both wanted to send them back. After waiting way too long, I decided to try to find the waitress. I eventually gave up and went to the bar and let the bartender know about the drink and ordered a smoky old fashioned instead. He said ok. I waited and waited and no drink came. Finally, the waitress came back and said she would get my drink and took our food order. I ordered a salad that had grilled chicken, avocados, roasted corn, etc and so did my friend. The chicken had good flavor, however my friend's salad had no corn and I only had a few pieces of corn but had no avocados. I had to get up 3 different times to try to find my server to come attend to us and eventually asked another server to find her for us. She explained they had no more corn and would get my avocados. I was eventually given sliced avocado that I had to peel the skin off myself. I will definitely no be revisiting this site in New Orleans.

Going to the Hard Rock is a Tradition of ours. This one is not the biggest but it has the classic Hard Rock Flair you come to love and look for in a HRC. Location is right on Bourbon not far from Canal Street, within easy walking access. There is no parking available on site. The gift shop is small and right off the main entrance, containing all the essentials you might need like pins, charms and bags. It can get very crowded so reservations are suggested if you have a party larger than two and want to come for a sit-down dinner. As a couple we tend to walk in and sit at the bar whenever we can to bypass waiting. The food was good, as you would expect of a HR and does not disappoint. I tried the STEAK SALAD (8oz grilled steak on a bed of fresh mixed greens tossed in a blue cheese vinaigrette, with pickled red onions, red peppers and Roma tomatoes, finished with crispy shoestring onions and blue cheese crumbles) for the first time at this location and loved it. Huge portion, plenty of meat and more than I could eat in one sitting! Paired great with my Old Fashion.

I am not a fan of many chain restaurants, nor am I a fan of visiting a chain restaurant while on vacation. When we walked in the door and received the warm welcome by the gleeful staff, I realized this was not your typical Hard Rock Cafe. Clearly a combination of that Louisiana charm and a highly effective GM makes this place what it is. The historic decor of this Hard Rock was quite impressive, they also had a photo spot, which was used quite heavily while we were there and a nice touch. A casual and comfortable dining room that is not excessively loud in a restaurant like this is somewhat hard to find. When dining in a chain restaurant I find the best options are burgers or pizzas, I go with what I know! The burgers and the pizza are both good here. This is a place where you can expect to see the GM, Shane Tucker, on the floor checking in with the patrons, he definitely navigated our dinner to a 5-star experience. He was a pleasure to talk with and stopped back numerous times to ensure everything was perfect, I was impressed! Cheers!
