Disappointing Experience for Locals – A Bar That Doesn’t Allow Dinner When It Should
As locals who live just a few blocks away, my pool team and I visit this bar fairly often, though it’s not our usual spot. We were there on Wednesday night because our pool league had us scheduled at this location, and unfortunately, our experience left much to be desired.
We arrived around 5 PM and were planning to stay until 11 PM for the duration of our league game. The bar offers basic snacks like mozzarella sticks and nachos, but given that we would be there for several hours, we hoped to order something more substantial to eat.
Before bringing in outside food, we checked with the staff to see if it would be alright. We couldn’t imagine it would be an issue, considering the bar’s minimal food offering. However, the staff refused to accommodate our request, even though it was clear that they could not serve us a meal that would meet our needs.
It’s not that the bar needs to serve full dinner; we understand that some places stick to snacks or a limited menu. But when you offer such minimal food options, it seems like basic customer service to allow customers to bring in something to eat. Especially when we’re already committing to staying there for hours, spending money on drinks and other services. Instead, the staff stuck to an arbitrary, inflexible policy, leaving us feeling as though they were more interested in making a quick profit off tourists than offering any basic accommodation for regulars like us.
What’s especially frustrating is that this bar is located in the CBD and mainly caters to tourists. As locals who frequently visit, we expected a little more flexibility and understanding. We weren’t asking for anything unreasonable—just the ability to have a meal while we stayed there. Unfortunately, the staff seemed more interested in enforcing rigid rules than making sure their customers were satisfied.
This bar isn’t our usual spot, but we had hoped it would be a convenient place for our pool league. After tonight’s experience, though, it’s hard to justify coming back. If you’re a local, be prepared to feel like you’re not a priority. I can’t recommend this place if you're looking for a spot that treats regular customers with the same respect they...
Read moreI'm not one to toss this around lightly, but this bar is racist. And I say that as a white woman. They refuse to play any black songs on their touch tunes with the excuse that they do not want profanity in the bar- all rap songs are blocked, not only ones with profanity. We all know there are PLENTY of clean rap songs. However, any music from white artists they will play, even if there is profanity. When approached about it the manager's excuse is that the owner is 80 years old. I think it's time to run these racist apologists out of town if that's really how they're going to address the situation. Do not give your business to racists.
I am 100% understanding of a venue wanting no profanity on their touch tunes. But it needs to be ALL profanity blocked if you want people to feel welcome in your bar. Change your policy and I'll take down...
Read moreI park in front of Voo Doo 2 but haven't went in. This lounge looks great inside and out .I'm there 5am and see the cleaning every day ,I would eat a dropped cupcake off of their floor that's how sure I am of its cleanliness. I assume the price is fair because I've watched tourist leave with a cup smiling every time. Trouble is everywhere so I can't say it's perfectly safe but I would say Trouble gets checked quickly there, it's surrounded by Banks with guards. If you're the type who gets pushy put yourself in check before entering. I sit in my car at break and lunch so that's how I know what I'm saying. Parking is on the street and $6.00 for 2 hours. I know this is the most neutral suggestion but I like the atmosphere and felt it should be said from my...
