Well I arrived early since my plane got in at 8am so we got breakfast then headed to the hotel to park about 10am. I asked the woman at check in if we will be able to get in early she said yes to call at 12 so at 12 I called (I didn't want to walk all the way back if a room was not ready) and she said sorry that she just gave away the ready room to people who where there to call back in an hour, so at 1 I called again and again she said the same thing to call again at 2. So I called and she said I'm sorry not rooms are available right now but check in is at 3 and a room should be ready around then. That's when I stated that check in is at 3 and a room better be ready. When we arrived at the hotel at 3:30 she was able to get us a room but the room was not ready the cleaning people had left some products in the room and they never replaced the towels or gave us sheets for the pull out bed. Which was bad enough cause I was suppose to have two queen beds and something happened where I got a king and a pull out. Then it took an hour for room service to bring the blankets and stuff up. Which should have been there in the first place.
Then at check out I came down around 10am check out was at 12 and I talked with them about my bill and asked if I could just leave the key cards in the room they said yes. I asked the women about the vallet parking that someone had mentioned to me that I should call for my car and hour to two hours prior to needing it. The woman told me that right now they were slow and what time would I need my car I said 11:15, she called the parking garage and they told her that I would only need a 10 minute call ahead. After running a little bit late I called at 11:15 for my car we went downstairs to waited till 11:40 when I had not receive my car I want to speak with the front desk! That's when they notified me that I should've called an hour to two hours prior; thankfully the woman I spoke with previously was walking in and I said I spoke with you and you told me I need to call 10 minutes now you're telling me I need an hour to two hours someone better get me my car because I did say I needed my car at 10 an it is 11:45 that is almost 2 hours ago when I asked the car be ready for 11:15 so that's when she admitted fault made the call and she got the car here in another 15 minutes 12! And I had a 1:30 appointment in Baton Rouge which is an hour and a half away that I was late for!
They need better event...
Read moreMy family and I had a horrible experience with this hotel we would not recommend it to anyone. Our status with Marriott is platinum elite and we take that very serious. We arrived in New Orleans to attend the Pelicans game when we got back to the hotel it was after 11:00 pm and our entire trip was ruined. The first issue was the toilet would not flush so my husband let the front desk know and she told him that maintenance wouldn’t be in until 7:00 am the next day. The second issue was when we pulled back the sheets there was hair all over them. The linen had not been changed. Then someone knocked on the door and it was a person holding a plunger and a trash bag. This gentleman didn’t speak to me and never acknowledged who he was I assumed he was a worker at the hotel since he had a plunger in his hand. He went into the bathroom without any gloves on lifted the toilet seat and started plunging how disgusting. So when he finally finished plunging the toilet I asked him if someone else was coming to change the sheets. I don’t believe he understood English because he wasn’t responding to my questions. Then we got another knock on the door it was the same gentleman he had sheets in his hand I can only assume he did not wash his hands so I’m overly disgusted at this point. He proceeded to change the sheets when he got to the fitted sheet he didn’t want to take it off and I said I want you to change the entire bedding on both beds he became upset with me and said he would be back. The lady at the front desk called the room and I told her what was going on she claimed he didn’t understand what I needed him to do and that he only cleans the lobby. The lady at the front desk stated she was the only person there and that she had people checking in late due to the weather. Finally the lady at the front desk came up to the room with sheets in her hand and was going to change the sheets at this point it’s after midnight my family and I were exhausted. Apparently she forgot something and said I’ll be back so we’re just standing in the room waiting. My husband went to the car and we he walked back in the hotel she was checking people in. She finally came back I told her we decided to leave she told us there would be no charge for the room. She never offered to move us to another room. We checked out at 1:22 am and drove to our next destination which was four hours away thankfully this Marriott hotel...
Read moreIf you’re going to New Orleans for work, with a large group, or for reasons where you benefit from being in the Central Business District (CBD), then this is a good mid-level hotel option. My partner’s company booked him into this hotel while he was in town for work (I tagged along) and we were pleased with the experience.|The staff was friendly and courteous. They were able to accommodate an early check-in (versus simply holding our bags, though we did see that they offered this as well) and a late check-out when our flights were delayed. We were intially pleased to see there was a hotel bar since a number of colleagues were booked into the same hotel, but unfortunately it closed down during Covid and has not reopened. The reception desk does have a small little shop for snacks and sodas/drinks. Breakfast is complimentary and features bagels, cereal, apples & bananas, yogurts, and egg dish options. |The rooms are nice and clean. Ours had two queen beds which were comfortable. It also had a cabinet with hangers, drawers, a TV, blackout curtains, and a mini-fridge. The bedside lights and easily accessible outlets were only on the table between the two beds rather than on both sides of each bed. Since I had to do some work while I was there, I was glad to have some desk space with a comfortable chair and pretty reliable wifi. Everything was quiet, even though we had a room right by the elevators. On the negative side, there was a flickering bathroom light and the water pressure wasn’t great. The hotel could use some refreshing and doesn’t have much personality but it’s clean and that's the most important thing.|While not quite in the thick of the French Quarter, this hotel’s location is a nice compromise if you want to take advantage of tourist sites in New Orleans like the National WWII Museum, the Aquarium, and everything in the French Quarter. It’s a five minute walk to Canal, which is the true edge of the French Quarter. I’m a big believer in trying to be as central as possible for your interests, and normally we stay on the other side of the Quarter so we can be closer to Frenchman Street for music. Still, if this hotel is offering a good deal, this is a solid option for your New...
