If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind dining experience, Camp Camp in Flushing is a must-visit. The restaurant perfectly captures a camping vibe, with decor and seating that make you feel like you’re out in the great outdoors only with amazing food and cocktails to elevate the experience.
The service deserves special mention the employees are incredibly attentive, friendly, and efficient, ensuring that everything runs smoothly and that you’re well taken care of throughout your visit. Their warmth and hospitality add an extra layer of enjoyment to the already fun atmosphere.
One of the standout features is the Ferris Wheel, a whimsical way to serve shots of cocktails. You can pick two cocktail flavors for the shots, and while the presentation was fantastic, the cocktails themselves could use a bit of fine-tuning.
When it comes to food, the skewers are the highlight. I tried the beef, lamb, chicken, chicken gizzard, and fish tofu, and most of them were flavorful and perfectly cooked. The beef and chicken were tender and juicy, and the fish tofu was a standout. However, the chicken gizzard was overcooked, making it tough, and the lamb was a bit too fatty.
The tin foil enoki mushroom was a little heavy for me , though a little subtle for my taste, and the cucumber appetizer was absolutely perfect refreshing, well seasoned, and a great start to the meal. The stir-fried instant noodles were good, but they could use some improvement as they were slightly oily and could use more flavor depth.
Overall, Camp Camp combines fun, flavorful food with a unique camping themed atmosphere and outstanding service. While a few dishes could be refined, the creativity, amazing staff, and standout menu items like the cucumber appetizer and skewers make it a memorable and enjoyable spot for a...
Read moreFor over $50 I don’t think it’s unfair for me to expect the grilled fish to be cooked from fresh. It was obvious that it was some kind of prepackaged processed fish that had been sitting in the freezer for god knows how long. The taste was awful and the texture was even worse. The skewers were your average Chinese bbq except three times more expensive and they left a weird, dry aftertaste in my mouth that I had to drink a lot of water to wash it down my throat. Two hours after I got home from eating here I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and I had to rush to the bathroom, and, please excuse me, experienced one of the worst cases of diarrhea in my life.
The only thing that was satisfactory for me was the atmosphere. It’s true to their advertisement. It’s nice if you only came to have a few drinks. They have a massive fridge filled with a huge variety of alcohol and alcoholic beverages.
Overall I don’t recommend it at all unless you only come to experience the atmosphere and have a few drinks. The food is overpriced and abhorrent. I highly suspect that the dry aftertaste came from cheap, low quality condiments or msg. I definitely won’t...
Read moreI came here for dinner with a group of friends and we loved the vibe here! They have both indoor and outdoor seating, but I highly recommend outdoor seating as it really gives off the "camping vibe" and was just a great environment to enjoy your meal in. Service here is fairly quick and they are kind (but some staff might have limited English).
We ordered their grilled cold noodles, eggplant, corn, clams, cucumbers, century egg, cold noodles, a bunch of skewers, and their mango and peach shaved ice. Everything was delicious, and my favorite dishes were their cucumber, eggplant, and century egg (which I tried for the first time here!). Skewers were also good portion, but I wish they had spices/seasoning on hand for us to add to the skewers. I thought that the shaved ice was okay, as it was a lot creamier than I would have liked (and I recommend the mango over peach—the peach didn't really taste like peach). Overall, not bad for Chinese skewers but would definitely come back...
