If I could describe this restaurant in one phrase it would be- Grandma's authentic home cooked Korean joint. It doesn't get more home cooked than this.
As soon as I stepped into this restaurant I reminisced the time spent in the corner restaurants in Seoul; the cramped seating, korean tv with high volume in the background, cutting of the ingredients in preparation and the sizzling sound of vegetables. Chung Moo is no different. I felt like I was in Korea as soon as I walked in.
I ordered the bulgogi with rice which contained a hefty portion of rice and beef with coleslaw salad and kimchi on the side. The rice was soft and tasted like it was cooked in the Zojirushi rice cooker, the beef cooked with just the right amount of seasoning, mixed vegetables with sprinkled sesame seeds on top, and the kimchi fresh and crunchy. The portion was too much to consume in one sitting so I took 1/4th home.
When my friend I were finished with our meal, we noticed we were the only ones in the restaurant. The grandma who runs this place starting talking to us and asking where we were from, what we do, and where we live, a very sincere grandma. She asked us to sit down and try the squid tempura complimentary stating it is her specialty. Indeed the tempura tasted fantastic, but slightly oily for my taste. I will definitely return when I'm craving a home cooked Korean meal...

The bibimbap is a shining star on the menu, a colorful and vibrant bowl that combines an array of fresh vegetables, savory meat, and a perfectly fried egg over a bed of steaming rice. I really love coming here on random days when I'm just aching for a home cooked meal. The joint is run by 3-4 ladies during the day and they make some pretty awesome korean home cooked meals.
The interior of this place is mostly salmon colored, above 3-4 foot wide aisles including the table, so it's actually quite narrow. There are about 4 tables, with 2 seats on opposite sides so don't expect to bring an entire gang of people here if you come.
The service here is quite nice and very comforting. They speak korean, a little english, and I believe even mandarin, not all of them, just one sepcific person. The food takes about 5-10 minutes to make, so it's not entirely long and it's made fresh on the spot.
I ordered the Dak-Galbi Dup-Bap, which is Spicy Chicken & Vegetables over Rice. The food comes with a hot Miso soup, and a garnishing salad with I believe Mayo+Ketchup mix. If you're a fan of Spicy, this is probably a good place for you. The food is made well, quick, and taste just like moms( if I had a Korean mom).
They also have other things on the menu such as Noodles, Kimbab, Dumplings, and Rice Cakes, but one dish should suffice your hunger. The menu is very cheap. With the exception of probably one or 2 items, nothing...
