787 Coffee — Restaurant in New York

My husband and I were visiting NYC for the weekend and were on the hunt for good coffee and a pastry to accompany us on our walk throughout the city. We made a beeline to 787 Coffee after reading the reviews, and let me tell you — the reviews DID NOT LIE. This coffee shop was FAN-FRIGGEN-TASTIC!!!! My husband ordered the Rumquito latte and I ordered the Dulce de Leche latte (both with whole milk) and enjoyed them at the tables out front. Both beverages were absolutely delightful and far exceeded my expectations. The Dulce de Leche latte had the perfect level of sweetness and the Rumquito latte had bits of coconut in it that really enhanced the drink. We also ordered a chocolate chip cookie and the chocolate concha and they were also fantastic (I’ll be dreaming about that chocolate chip cookie for a while —DO YOU SEE THOSE CHOCOLATE CHIPS?!)! The woman working behind the counter was SO KIND and helpful and made us feel right at home! You can tell just how much love goes into the shop and every beverage produced. Do yourself a favor and stop by 787 for a delicious cup of Puerto Rican coffee the next time you’re in this neighborhood (heck even if you’re not in the neighborhood, it’s worth going out of the way for it). This coffee shop was by far one of the highlights of our trip and I can’t wait to return next time...

if comfort food feeds the soul, then great coffee refreshes the spirits. 787 Coffee serves hands-down great coffee.

i've been to the other location in the East Village...this is my first visit to the East 7th Street and much like the other location...it doesn't disappoint. 787 Coffee serves up farm to cup coffee--from Puerto Rico's rich fields to your hands via expert roasting and brewing by the 787 team. 787 Coffee is a local NYC coffee chain with a number of locations in NYC.

the interior space is small, clean, and well-organized from the coffee additives to the stirrers, napkins, etc. there are a several tables outside as social distancing measures are still in effect this month. there is WiFi available for those who need access to the interwebz.

the coffee? excellent. i finally tried an Americano with rum-infused coffee and it was delicious, aromatic, and full of rich vibrancy from first hot sip to the last warm drops. highly, recommend taking a shot on this coffee as it is unique with a coffee smooth finish.

the staff is upbeat. the vibe is friendly. your drinks and service isn't rushed. the staff takes their time to make your coffee memorable.

i am no longer an every day coffee drinker by choice, but the coffee at 787 makes me want to reconsider that life...

I came across on a whim to take shelter from thunderstorms.

Atmosphere is half light conversations and half people reading/enjoying themselves.

This review is for the cappuccino— specifically with the whiskey-infused beans. The initial tase of the coffee was quite strong, a little too much of the whiskey and less of the coffee. That taste hits you early if you’re not prepared. My experience was that the coffee taste balanced out over time, as you drank it. The froth and lightness of the cappuccino itself was right up my alley, no complaints there!

Only thing I would try to do differently is reduce the strength of the initial whiskey taste, for a more consistent experience throughout.

But this place is definitely worth a stop if you’re in the immediate area or even a 15 min walk.

Shoutout to the friendly staff interested in taking suggestions to improve, always a...
