We had an amazing experience at Thayer Coffee Shop, our last stop, before heading to the airport. The coffee here is fantastic! After chatting with the owner, we learned that their goal is simple: to make a great cup of basic coffee – no frills, just quality. And that's exactly what we got. As fans of drip coffee, we were blown away by how good theirs is.
The owner and staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, which made our visit even more enjoyable. What sets this place apart is that the owner also runs a small press, offering beautifully printed books in limited quantities, which you can browse in the shop.

Read moreModern look and feel with a mix of a cafe + glamping + art gallery + book shop aesthetic. A bit futuristic for my tastes, but they do it well. They serve Irving Farm coffee, and only dark roasts. For a dark roast…this drip coffee bops! It’s highly drinkable and rich in deep flavor. Unlike many coffee shops which SAY they use a medium roast, but actually use an over roasted medium/dark roast, this dark roast drip coffee is how a dark roast should be. Hopefully more of a bustling crowd next time. Coffee score: 5/5. Everything else score: 4/5. Overall...

Thayer serves both plus a small selection of pastries and savory options in a charming modern space. the coffee is delicious (Irving Farm) and Thayer's vibe is as satisfying --comforting, warm, yet energetic like its brewed "java." its interior is clean to the eye without feeling cold bc the service from the staff to owner is warm and genuine, not invasive. today's world feels increasingly transactional--SO it is refreshing to have an "exchange of goods for $s" that doesn't feel like a cold transfer. Thayer is "chilled out" and the coffee is served hot and with care--THIS IS THE WAY.
Thayer also doubles as a home for an independent press. another welcome...
