THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE ENDURED BY THE SUPPOSED “OWNER”! So today on November 7th, 2022 my husband and I went to absolute like we usually do once a week. I ordered the fugedaboutit sandwich and an iced lavender lemonade. Come to find out the girl behind the counter said they ran out of lemonade after I was charged. I was forced to order a second drink (red berry) and was recharged for this one. We sat down and waited 15 mins then was told they didn’t have basil so we decided to get arugula. Then waited 15 more minutes and then the supposed “owner” came and told us they didn’t have any of the ingredients to make the sandwich. We were offered a different sandwich but at that point we were disgusted by the service we decided to get a refund. He then had trouble finding our order to refund and asked his employee (a woman) to help him find it but when she tried to help him he was frustrated with her and dismissed her in such a rude manner. He then found our original receipt and types in my email address wrong and then got infuriated with me because he miss typed one of the letters in my email and had to resend it. At that point we left the coffee shop and then realized we were never refunded for the second drink (red berry) that he said would be on the house. So at that point we went back to the coffee shop and HE escalated the situation by being very aggressive, demeaning me (woman and pregnant), completely overpowering the conversation and raising his voice. I was trying to explain the issue but he told me “How can I listen if I can’t speak”. I was left quite confused. He was speaking on top of me and was making a scene as If I’m not a regular patron of the restaurant. I strongly don’t believe I would of received this kind of customer service if I wasn’t a woman. Especially by the way he was so rude to his female employee when she was trying to explain their error. My husband called afterwards to express his disappointment on the bad customer service we received being that we regularly dine at this location once a week, and the supposed “owner” acknowledged that he see us at this location all the time. The “owner” have toxic masculinity issues and I will never patronize this coffee...

I came in with my dog, making sure she was visible when ordering just in case she wasn’t allowed. I ordered and received my drink, and sat down to start working. A minute later a manager came up to me and said I had to leave, and that it’s city law that my dog can’t be in there if she’s not a service animal. I said that I was confused because I made her very visible when ordering, and that I wish someone had told me this before getting my drink. The manager said that he had no choice, and that it was city law that she wasn’t able to be there. I packed my things and when I went to get a to go lid, he came back to me and starting repeating everything he had already said. I explained that I was leaving, I wasn’t arguing, and that I just wanted a lid for my drink. There are no signs or posters on the window indicating that it’s not pet friendly. I get that I had to leave, but I wish this would have been told to me sooner, and that there were signs indicating this. Overall, weird vibes and overpriced coffee. Can find better cafes 2 blocks...

Wow. Welcome to Brooklyn much? I had a long day and walked in to the place an hour before closing. I get met with “it’s late we’re out of drip Coffee, we can just make espresso drinks only”. Ok, no problem, how bout a pour over (since that clearly doesn’t require a drip machine).

I was met with “
.fine. You know it takes 7-10 min right?”. To which I responded: “Ok.”

Also met with roll eyes when asking which drink had more milk (macchiato vs cortado)..I’m sorry? That’s a job of a barista to educate.

Hours are till 9, why the attitude an hour before?

Wouldn’t come here again. Drinks were good though. People can have difficult days so workers don’t always smile, that’s fine. But cut the attitude, I’m sure the owner wouldn’t appreciate customers being talked out of the more...

Absolute Coffee is a really cute little coffee shop off of Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn! I visited for the first time this weekend, the lavender lemonade was so good. The staff were really efficient and accommodating as well, I had a great experience here! UPDATE (4/20/2025): I have returned to Absolute Coffee multiple times since my initial review was written, and I always have the best experiences here! :-) They make an excellent oat vanilla latte, and their seasonal raspberry mocha (with oat milk) is my favorite!! The staff are always SO nice, and the place is always clean & well-kept. I highly recommend this spot!!

Lovely espresso and coffee with a mix of sweet and savory pastries available. The spinach tomato feta turnover was crisp and flaky (with a little cheese crisped onto the outside - see photo), nicely moist on the inside. Food and beverages are reasonably priced. This would have been an easy five stars except that the row of smallest tables all rock badly - easy to fix, but when I splashed my cappuccino across the papers I was reading, and no staff came to assist while I was mopping it up with napkins, it colored my experience a bit.

Came here for the first time about a month ago and I'm not lying I've been here nearly every day getting their Brooklynite salad - it's seriously amazing. The portion is worth the $14 price. Their coffee is a bit pricey but it makes sense considering the area (higher priced). I love the music and the atmosphere of the cafe and that they have PLUGS!! I don't know why cafes fail to put plugs in their stores but there are plugs everywhere here so I love that. Highly recommend!!
