Chanced it on a casual Monday evening and it wasn't the greatest experience, was it my fault for lapse of judgement or was it a miss to show a great guest experience?
They had a "special" going for weekdays and the steak if we can call it that was a disappointment.
Ordered 2 of the specials and one child meal. The steaks were ordered the same temperature but one came back a bit more rare than the other when they were both suppose to be medium.
The wait time when the restaurant was actually only full on one side of it only was a very long.
An appetizer of chicken wonton tacos came and drinks but took quite a bit after for the child meal, Then the steaks that were undercooked versus what was requested took a while to get to the table where we would look around to see if they remembered we existed.
It's almost like they forgot the order and then fired the steaks on the fly and sent out two complete different temperatures.
Both steaks were completely different shapes when they were suppose to be the same size of 8oz.
The seasoning was definitely another miss, almost like they either didn't do it enough and just focused on putting grill marks on the item and nothing else. I'm pretty sure a steak ain't suppose to be treated like it's a burger. Quality Control is needed for its kitchen, or additional training for the cooks.
Sides were mashed potatoes and green beans. Mashed was probably the line for quality as it wasn't good but wasn't bad. The green beans felt very can based, almost like they blanched them in water and didn't do more after.
The entire meal was a complete afterthought. Will not be frequenting this location or chain in general ever again.
Also, beware they have someone that goes around taking your picture and talks a good game about complimentary "frame" but then after the fact you will have to pay for a $20 photo on someone's iPhone through Square.
I had to double check and make sure any photos taken were not used for marketing or any promotional purposes as I did not consent to my youngest...
Read moreLast night I went to Apple Bee’s for the first time ever and I was extremely disappointed by the food.
-The restaurant itself looked very nice, except for the restroom which needs some work.
-The hostess (aka who is at the front and walks you to your table) had an attitude on her face as if she did not want to work there. Not welcoming at all. The employee at the front of the restaurant greeting customers into the restaurant you would think ought to have a very warm and welcoming personality, and instead you are met with a statue wearing a “I don’t want to be here face.” Not a good first impression.
-The waiter/server was very good, but he was covering so many tables it looked like he was covering half the restaurant? He was taking orders, serving, and cleaning up, which I thought was too much for a single person and I felt like he was not available to us as much because he was so busy and this negatively affected my experience. -The food was - terrible. The steak was the worst I have had in my life. The wings were mediocre at best. The shrimp and onion rings tasted like oil and that is it. The fries were good however. The strawberry as well as the Oreo milkshakes were “ok.” The piña colada tastes so artificial and clearly it was poured from a machine. The cole slaw was fine.
I ordered dessert (Cinnabon mini swirls $10) and I forgot I had ordered it so I paid and left and only now that I am writing I remember I did not get my dessert!
In conclusion: I came here thinking I would eat delicious food but I left almost all of it on the plate because it was so cheaply and poorly made. I came here for the food and left extremely dissatisfied with the food. I would comment on their dessert, but I was never served the one I paid for.
I will never return to this place because the food...
