Ay Kebab — Restaurant in New York

I went to this place after a search for Turkish cuisine. They had good ratings so I gave it a try. The food tasted fresh. I liked their salad and their take on falafels. You can really taste the flavors. The mixed grill platter was a hefty meal to share for two people. We couldn't even finish it! The seasoning was very nice; I especially liked the chicken. The outdoor dining ambiance was also nice. There is good spacing between each table, so it didn't feel like we were on top of each other. This is especially important during these times; there's plexiglass separating us from other guests. It felt like a private retreat. The servers were nice and the food came out at a decent speed. I also liked that I could try a traditional drink called salgam; a quick Google search says it's turnip juice. So I ordered it thinking it's beet juice due to its color. The bottle called it "fermented black carrot juice." I was shocked by it. It is actually a savory drink. It took a while to adjust to, but I liked that I could try something different; that was a fun experience. The bill didn't come out too much and we were stuffed. Altogether it was a good...

Very disappointed by the service here. After seating us, it took the waiter 10 minutes to come back with menus. Fine. We ordered lahmacun (meat pie), lamb shish kebab, and kunefe. 45 minutes later, the waiter came by and asked what we ordered. After 5 more minutes, a different waiter came, took our order again, apologized for the delay and offered to give us a discount. OK, that happens, and I'm glad he offered some compensation. Another 30 minutes pass and the waiters return with a shish kebab plate and a mixed pide. You would expect the right dish after repeating it three times. The shish kebab was dry and burnt. The kunefe still wasn't ready two hours after first being ordered, but we had to run. Got the bill and of course no discount was applied. A very disappointing experience from a highly rated restaurant.

I ordered grilled salmon through Uber eats and paid exactly the same price I would pay going to this restaurant. So I called this place to make sure salad is there and no rice. When I received the delivery I got shocked. It is a garbage plate. One piece of salmon which is inedible because it was so bitter and had a strange taste it was 100% not fresh with dried fries. I called the place to tell them how come the price is the same but the food is not the same as the one you get in their restaurant. The guy said yes it’s served like that for delivery . Wait what ...? And then he said you know what I’m new here call back tomorrow for a manager. I’m so disappointed even if it’s just food but for me this is STEALING. And also I got sooo upset because I was craving for salmon but never ate it. I WILL NEVER ORDER OR GO TO THIS PLACE again. AWFUL !!!!

Ps. I had to throw the food in the trash ( salmon/ fries) I didn’t want to get sick not mentioning...
